I just put some 275/60/15 on the stock rims(ugly as hell with no caps :o ) Tired of worring about rain when ever I drive it more than 10 miles from home.

I was wondering how aggressive a burn out I should do?
Similar to the Hoosier QTP'S?

18PSI good for these tires?

Thanks.

When I ran some 235s on a stock turbo car, I just cleaned them off a bit, maybe some light smoke. For myself, I didn't think they needed much of a burnout since they are a really soft compound, and consider that they wear out quick anyway. I only ran those a few times and they went 1.71 to 1.82 on a 5 lb launch, 22 pound air pressure, running 7.9s, stock suspension with air bags. But the stock turbo car would not overpower them.

I run 275/60s BFGs now on a modded car, and follow the same plan, not a real big burnout. Only ran them once and they did a 1.78 on a 5 lb launch, with 22 lb air pressure, and wouldn't handle any more boost at launch. On the same track that night, the 28x10.5 slicks went 1.62 as a comparison, and I was running 18 lb boost. This car has boxed uppers, lowers and ATR bar.

You could start with 22 lb air pressure and work down to 18 and see if that works....lots of variables, track conditions, weather, suspension, etc. HTH

I saw some Mustangs at the St Louis Ford Fest on DRs. They would do a medium burn-out, come out of the hole rather soft and then punch it at around the 60' mark. A few pulled their front wheels off the ground when they nailed it. They were running 8's.

YOU GUYS!! THE FACTORY SAYS..... DO ONE MED BURNOUT LET THE TIRES SIT FOR 24HRS TO CURE. VERY INPORTANT. THEN SHORTBURNOUTS JUST TO PUT HEAT IN THEM. IF YOU DO A HARD SOMKIE BURNOUT THE TIRES GET GREASE. SO JUST WISP OF SMOKE AND YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY. FRANK.
