How hard is it to find a grand national for about 6k?

Not to hard if you are looking for a nice lower mileage 84-85, pretty difficult if you looking for a nice lower mileage 86-87. For 6K, I would think that you would be able to find an 86-87 with 80-100K miles that is in decent shape. Just keep an eye on the for sale forum on this board.

not hard at all. i got my 87 gn with 60k for 5300 granted, the paint is horrible and it needed some work, but now i drive it everydya without a problem. just look in you local autotrader every week, theres usually a couple in there

Indeed, I got my 87 by looking in Auto Trader for 6K and all she needs is a good paint job. High mileage but very well taken care of. You could also try eBay.
