How hot do stock headers get?

I am getting ready to coat mine silver but if they get over 1200 they said to do them in black just not sure how hot they get anyone?

Approx. 1700 degrees WOT.

Go with black 2000 degree stuff. Some say teh 1200 will work but loses its luster quickly. Others say it comes off.

Heard no bad about the 2000 but on the fence about coating the inside ...incase a big chunk came loose and hit the turbine at 20 plus k rpm.
