Is there a most correct way to install the steels and clutches?

I am at the low-rev stage in the rebuild and I noticed that the steels are not symmetrical. I installed the steels with the three wide tabs per side to the top and four wide tabs towards the bottom. It is also possible to tell which way the steels are punched. I arranged them so that the they are all facing the same way - the sharper/exit side towards the rear.

I think there is a good answer for the title question, but I may just be trying to think too hard about some of the other aspects

SOAK TIME

Bruce recommends soaking 15 minutes in atf. The manual says 15 minutes in hot fluid. And some builders don't soak at all. I would personally go with soaking myself,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mark

we reccomend 5 minutes on the bunsen burner at lo heat.this ensures full penetration of friction material and removes any moisture trapped in the friction paper

I say minimum 15 min. IMHO, but I prefer 30min. the reason for soaking is to prevent dry start-up paper burn (glazing of frictions) and if you have the time why not play it safe!
