The reason I am asking is because I am in search of a solid roof GN. The ones I've looked at lately all are T tops which i HATEEE.... no insult towards you t top guys. I just wanted to know the percentage of GN's with solid roof.... just didnt know if it was more common to find one with or without a T top.

You could probably find this stat on http://www.gnttype.org/general/product.html

Also, pick up a copy of "Guide to Buick Grand National, T-Type & GNX" - Volume 1 & 2 - Steven L Dove
or one of the Poston books.

I would imagine others on this board might have a copy and can look up the info within. Maybe this will at least get you started.

Mine has a solid roof, I will look in the books for you to see if there is data in there about T-top or not...

I want an astroroof myself...best of both worlds!

Chris; I've known a few folks with the astro roof version, and they have all had guide track problems and leaks. I had an 86 GN w/ T-Tops, and currently have an 87 GN w/ T-Tops, and have had very little trouble with leaking. Of course, all T-Top cars will leak under direct water pressure at a seam joint, but I have been very pleased with the good seals I've experienced on mine. It's probably because I keep the weather stripping in good shape. Anyway, I would be very careful of any GN you buy w/ an astro roof, as you might be getting into a potential internal waterfall. Subject it to some intense waterhose testing beforehand.
Just FYI...
