I am thinking about doing this since I finally found a fuel station near me that sells this by the pump. I have a fairly new heated o2 sensor kit that I have been using while running with this 110 at the track all summer. How long do these heated o2 kits last and can I run 110 leaded all the time with no problems? I don't have a catalytic converter to worry about either. I would love to run this on the street so I can run 20+ lbs on my TE-44 turbo.

You'll prolly still be burning them up on a regular basis but if you want to run 110 then get a ME chip. That's what I do..

I run race gas most of the time , the 02 sensor will last a long time if it is driven everyday , I use the bosch 02 sensor from Auto Zone

so what effect does the max effort do anyways...does it just eliminate the o2 sensor entirely? i have spent too much money on the ls1 maf sensor and translator and the chips i have to get a max effort now...i've heard of guys going a full year or more with a heated o2 kit with race gas??? well i will try it and see...if the sensor does happen to go bad then i will just switch over to 104 unleaded all the time...

I run 112 or higher in mine all the time...mostly a race car but is driven on the street...my NTK heated O2 has lasted for quite some time...but I make sure to turn the key on and wait at least 30 seconds before starting the car everytime...

As I have stated in the past, I run race fuel all of the time in my GN. I use the Casper's heated O2. I have been using the same O2 for three years now. If your car is in tune and runs consistant, you will know when the O2 goes bad.

I don't know how all the programming works but the ME doesn't use the O2 to "adjust" the fueling, that's what the thumb wheel positions do. It still reads something but the computer ignores it. The O2's are accurate as long as it's not fouled be leaded fuels..

glad to hear that because i have the same exact o2 sensor as you! i always leave the car in the on position before starting it up to get all the electronics and stuff turned on...i guess i have nothing to worry about then...thanks guys

btw is 118 octane leaded race fuel a little too high? i mean is there such a thing as too much octane? i didn't think there was... i bought a 16 gallon thing of 118 from torco racing fuels a few weeks ago...i do NOT want to knock! hehe

Hey don, how much for the 16 gal of 118. and where did you get it. btw if weather permits me and a bud will be at 41 sunday at 3pm thats when all the brackets are just about done and they are open till 7. pretty much no else there.

The higher the octane, the slower the burn rate is. If you can run a lower octane fuel the burn rate will be faster; thus improving performance. In most cases 110 and 112 octane race fule will suffice. This is not to say that some applications do require 116 or higher octane fuels. Some TR's do require the higher octane fuels. This depends on the set up. I started with 116 and worked down to 110 octane race fuel. I am not saying go out and use 110 race fuel, this is what workes for GN. My yellow T likes the 112. For most TR's 112 octane race fuel is fine. My .02

Duel fuel do it

Hey fellas i run race gas in my car all the time , but unless i see a worthy advisary i drive on pump gas , when i want to race i flip my stock tanks pump off , watch the pressure drop flip on my race cell pump , flip on the return solinoid and turn up the boost . Im using an aluminum cell and one way valves and such but a nice setup would be a wheel well sell from ram chargers with a intank pump , two of the Ford ranger duel fuel tank valves , one for the fuel feed and one for the return , a few switches and thats it Ohh and the Gas of course , anyone need the valve Pn# mail me . I know im not the inventor of this setup but you seldom hear anyone talking about this ,or you could just drive on $9.00 a gallon race gas all day , its your choice.;)

Ohh and you will know when the O2 sensors bad if you run a scanmaster your #s will be all screwed up like 430 on a WOT run. The heated O2 wasnt much better . Im using the Bosch sensor now and its holding up pretty good , i would like to hear about this Denso one , i saw a ad for it in a Mustang magazine , no really guys i just read the articles . That 116 seems to work nice , may be overkill but i ran my car up to 27lbs on a fairly hot day with no knock so it must be doing something right.

well there's a torco racing fuels distributor about 2 miles in town here in valpo that sells all this stuff...they even sell 120 octane!

the 118 i got was $7.40 a gallon
the 116 is 6.28 gallon
114 is 5.55 gallon
112 is 4.75 gallon
and the 110 is 4.46 a gallon

i figured i would get the highest octane possible without NOS in it...so basically 118 octane is too much for my setup? i am gonna be running 25+ lbs of boost on my te-44 so i wanted to make double sure i was safe with the gas...this won't HURT my car will it?

as for going to 41 sunday, i can't because i am still waiting on racetronix to send me my damn 50 lb fuel injectors....right now i am running a te-44 turbo with stock injectors! can't boost over 10 lbs without seeing knock due to being lean

i WILL be there however august 30th for the fast and the furious event to test out my new combo...i want to test it out before the buick midwest challenge sept. 13th-15th
