Group of us hit a Chinese Buffet on L.I. last night. For $23.95 it was all you could eat! I'm BIG so I was a little more then interested to see what they had.

I started off with 24 Oysters on the half shell, went to 75 peel your own shrimp (decent size for a change), had a 1 1/2 inch thick Prime Rib, cooked very rare with boiled potato, spinach and gravy, Found out they had 1/2 lobsters (no claws but nice tails for an extra $1.50 each) had 8 of them with drawn butter, 4 Peking duck pancakes with sauce and scallions, an egg plant parmigiana, with 4 stuffed shells and sauce, and a plate full of assorted fruit for dessert.

Everything was MUCH better then I expected, and came to a final total of $39.00!

Come on down to Texas. We have a place out by Amarillo that you need to try out.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but overeating is not something to be proud of. You're killing yourself.

I was reading this post again and I found a website to try to add up all the calories that you ate. Do you realize that meal was well over 12,000 calories?!!?!?!?!?! Maybe even 15,000. You'd have to run for over 50 miles just to burn the calories from that one meal. Guess I shouldn't feel so bad for having that extra slice of pizza!!

Only have to run 50 miles IF you wanna lose the weight. My sofa is alot more comfortable than running up and down the street!;) Guess thats why my jeans are getting TIGHTER.:frown:

I'm trying to lose weight, have cut my meals in half. Have gone from 273 to 255 in 3 weeks, BUT I do reserve my Sat. night meal to ANYTHING I want, just to keep me happy! I must say I was full after that, but not SICK full, ate at 7 PM, and at 1:30 AM, just had a glass of Ice Tea.

The buffet must have had 200 different dishes and if into Sushi (I don't care for it) they had 2 chefs making it all the time. Friends that liked it said it was excellent, all you could eat!

We did spend 2 1/2 hours there. Lots of laughs! Oh, had a pitcher of DietCoke with it!!!

Damn $39!

Here in Dallas you can get all you can eat chinese (good kind) for $8.

They even have fried chicken and ribs and other american food at these buffets too. Lots of deserts.

Jeez is it really that much more expensive up there?

I'm thinkin' it is. A buddy of mine was in NYC and he said they charged him for each refill on his tea. Good way to run off the customers in Texas.

Thats the truth,I bet the average Texan drinks a gallon of sweet tea in one lunch sitting.

You must know something I dont. Having lived in Dallas for 6 years, the only place I EVER ate at that had sweet tea was Sonny Bryant's. In contrast, in NC, you'd be hard pressed to find ANYWHERE that had unsweetened tea.

I gotta tell ya, that's a BIG meal buddy...

Price wise, it could be worse. My son is leaving for Tokyo Japan in the morning with some others from America Top Team. The last time he went abroad he told me he felt as though he was feeding the whole family when he saw the bill.

I love buffets because you can eat like a pig, and also sample different foods. The downside is that some foods might sit too long. Food poisoning blows.

He didn't really say, but he has been getting more and more excited over the past month waiting. It seems to be the only thing on his mind right now. He couldn't make the trip to Brazil with them at the end of January, so that just seems to make this trip all the more important to him. I'll send you some pic's when he get's back.
