How much gain with ported stock heads?

How much would my combo gain with ported stock heads and three angle stock valves? I would just have heads done, not intake. Thanks.

Ported Heads

Ported heads with the proper combination are worth about 3mph.You should have the intake & exhaust manifolds ported & matched as well.Most of your power from cast iron heads will result from seat,bowl & valve work.

Hi Jim,

As long as the intake is off you might as well have it done too. There are gains in just the heads but to optimize those gains you should have a matching properly ported intake.

I was just going to purchase a set of ported heads to have on hand when I blow a HG. That is why the intake would not be done, also.
