i was wondering if the 009's are enough for what i have,
for my 86.
i have a set but not installed,im having second thoughts of just going bigger, so its cool for me because i know a few people that'll buy them(with ra93&ra100 chips),
so i still can purchase larger injectors.
need some feedback:)

You're Doing The Right Thing...Good Decision!

Get the newest 55# factory impedance units from Jack at Racetronix, with a custom chip burnt precisely for your own unique combo from Bob Bailey at Ramchargers.

Then, enjoy your improved performance with an improved safety margin on your injector duty cycle, which should not exceed 80%.

HTH :)

There are two real options, small injectors, and running static, or having enough injector to actually have a fuel curve, and run the injector as it's designed to.

Run 55s and be done with it, they'll even take you to the 10s if you want to go really fast.

There is nothing a 30-36-40-42.5, or 50 can do that a 55 can't do as well or better. Given of couse the proper chip.

What are your goals?

Those 009's are plenty for the combo you have now. If you have them, use them. If you think want to go faster later on, get some bigger injectors.

Regards,
Eric

Your setup can pretty much max out 009's. But they are still a good match for what you have. I say run them since you have them. When you decide to slap on a 70 series turbo you're going to need to get low impedance injectors anyways. ;)

I have 50's and I wouldn't waste any more time with high impedance injectors. Its straight to 72s next time around.

LATER THIS YEAR I WOULD LIKE TO GET A STRETCH
INTERCOOLER,POSSIBLY A FRNT MOUNT BUT I DOUBT IT,A GOOD ENOUGH STALL FOR A 60 SERIES TURBO,AND THAST IT.
NOT EVEN THINKING OF TOUCHING THE 70 SERIES.
I DONT WANT TO MODIFY MY ECM,OR RUN AFTERMARKET PROGRAMS, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

SO I THOUGHT ABOUT IT,AND WAITED TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS.

hey jose

its evan, the guy from 650 that you met at the track (silver 87 limited)

hey i have 009's on my car and was runing a ramchargers chip.

i felt that the ramchargers chip, while suposidly being for "91 octane" was a little agressive for 91. maby that was just my car, i would not go by that because my car isnt runing exactly perfect. but i switched to the extender chip and a maf trans + setup and it said that the corect timing setting for 91 was lower than the * of advance on the ramchargers chip. i also noticed a MUCH quicker spool up on the extender for obvious reasons that the extender has in it. i think that the extender also makes it much easier to tune, all tuneing done in a little box instead of whiping out the tooles and doing the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and switching chips around for diffrent timing setups. like i said, just my personal experiences :)

it costs more for a setup like that, but well worth it if you are ready for a step like that

evan, a trans+ setup is defenatly in the list to buy.
just have to wait right now.

so have you been back to the track ?

yeah from what i hear, the 009's are harder to tune than the 50's?
i think dean has alot of experience with both injectors, as if i remember corectly he was runing 009's a while ago?

if i could have gotten 50's for the same price i got my 009's for, i probably would have. for me, they are enough fuel for now. :)

I have no tunability complaints with the 009s. I just didn't much care for running near static @ 3rd WOT... this was when I had my TA49. Also, I got a great deal on ~100 mile set of 50s off a friend with a cammed & ported engine that went to 72s (hint, hint).

ttypenssrider, you have a cammed & ported engine, run alky, are considering a stretch or FM, and eluded to a 60 series turbo. IMO the 009s will not be enough when you decide to turn it up, and you will. If you aleady have and can't return the 009s, use them. If you haven't bought them yet, save your pennies for a week or two and get 50s or 57s. Per Racetronics website:

009s: ~$50.00/ea = $300
MSD 50s: 57.50/ea = $345
Siemens 57s: $65.00/ea = $390

When I had my '49 & 009s (stock block / head engine), I would be @ 105-110% duty cycle @ ~23psi & 24-26*. 50s dropped that to ~85%. Now with the PTE 52, it is back up to nearly 90% with ~23psi, 23-25*... a tad higher than my liking. I'm going to replace the supply line for more flow, and get more voltage to the pump. That will (hopefully?) hold me over for the current set up, but when my ported / slightly cammed engine comes together it will probably be inadequate, so a Bob Bailey Low-Z ECM has already been procured. I just need to decide on my injector, which will probably be Siemens 72s.

If it were me I would stick with the 009 and get ahold of a good chip tuner, like Tweak. Eric can make the 009 work. Just my opinion.

no jose i have not been back up to the track since that horible hot day. that had to be one of the worst days besides the day my first GN got stolen

my tool box got lost w/ alot of important things in it. i ran bad times, it was too hot, it was bracket racing, i almost didnt get to race. i actually would have been better off if i didnt race:P

im gonna go back to the track soon, but when i do i want to be tuned good, be runing right, and im goin to SAC. much better for just havin fun IMO.
