how much is 87 gn rad worth?

hey guys.. local guy put in a be cool 700 ****in dollar radiator.. anyway he got the stock 87 left.. i need one for my car anyway.. so i can use the damn rad plate instead of ZIP TIES... anyway he dont really know how much its worht so how much should i offer.. $20? $30? if i dont buy it he'll most likely throw it away anywya..

I'd say about 25 for it! Can you not use the rad plate with fan from an 87 on an 84/5 rad? heard it bolts right up. If not, im screwed!

no.. sort of..

84 - no, rad is too short..
85 - mostly no. . some 85's had the big radiator like the 86/87s did.. if you have a wide rad then yes.. if you have a short one like 84's. no

Well I had no idea thye used different rads in these things between 84 and 85. How am I supposed to tell the difference? My car had a new rad put in when i first got it, so what are the big differenes betwene the 84/5 and 86/7 rads?

Nick, Is it low mileage? If it is then grab it - if not most likely it will need a recore. Save your $$ and get a V8 raditator @ Autozone for $85, My car runs cooler than most that have aluminum rads.

I had no idea there was a difference in radiator sizes between hotair cars. The 87 one is about 6" wider and it has an oil cooler. The small ones had a plate blocking off the unused open area.
