So how much money have people spent over the years on theses cars from 1987 un till now? lets hear it.

WE4 bought new with tax about $19.5K it's loaded.

About $1K a year for insurance.

About $1K a year for normal maintenance items.

About $6K in go fast parts.

Lasted 27 years on the road for about $80K.

It would still run 11's if it still had a frame.

Parted would net me $5K I'd guess.

Can't beat it for about $3K a year, skipped the gas cost though. ;)

Beats driving a 1987 Camry. :jawdrop::wtf:

For a clean 87' Limited With a build motor I paid 13.5. With paint and the crazy build I did all said and done I have about 40-50k into the car. Not including custom 1 off stuff and my 1000 hours of labor :p

I can't complain. I paid 8900 bucks for my 87 gn in 1992 and have driven it 45k since then and have put very little into it. I don't race it but i don't baby it either. Basic maintenance really except for 3 failed power disasters which are apparently gold plated. It owes me nothing and she still is in vg condition.

Bought for 10.5 in 2002. Been spending since. Better for me to spend it on the T than throwing dollars at strippers. I don't want to be divorced.

Bought mine for $5 grand almost 2 years ago. Last year spent almost $5 grand for someone to fix it and tell me it was fixed. Still have the same problem. Having the engine overhauled with better parts by a knowledgeable person. I anticipate to spend probably close to $8 grand this year when all is said and done. Let's not forget the body work I still have to do.

I've had my '86 for 20 years and somewhere around 60k.

I don't save receipts, If my wife ever found them I would have to figure out how to fashion a home from them because that's where I'd be staying. I just told her a week or so ago about my second engine ... it went better than expected especially after I told her about the new FZ-09 I bought.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission? :)

If I ever was to tell my wife what I spend on my car she wants the same amount in cash.

All I know is the spending came to a screeching halt when I bought my first house a month ago :(

I keep the receipts. I don't recommend adding them up though. I did. This is what I found..........

In 20 years, about $100,000 total cost on hard parts. My current combo is around $60,000 of that.

3 trillion hours of my time @ 25 cents an hour equals an additional 750 billion dollars. Or something like that.

Buddy of mine license plate says 87 GRAND, while we were at Norwalk my wife asked, jokingly if that was how much he had in it

In 1992 I had 40K into it including its original purchase price when new. Stopped counting then:confused:. Now I have 3 of them:eek:
