Or shall I say how much better will it run once it is fixed. It's been like that since I bought it so I'm not sure of the difference?

Thanks

trust me...mine just cracked and i will give you just a few reasons why you should get it fixed asap...

1. turbo will start to spool up VERY slowly
2. your o2 sensor is sensing more oxygen via open crack in the exhaust and thus is telling the computer to constantly add more fuel thus you are always running lean...in turn a code 44 will show up when you let your car idle for 60 seconds...
3. car will be slower if you race it...won't be able to hold alot of boost at the line...etc.
4. car will idle like crap

It will smell like its running rich.

It will be hard to tune.

It might be a little louder.

Your gas mileage will be lower.

It will run a lot better. I just got done doing mine last night. It is a heck of a lot faster with it fixed. Like previously stated, car runs better, turbo spools faster, also have full amount of boost. My car has never pulled as hard as it is right now.

:D

GET IT FIXED!!!!!

All Cracked Up

What are the options to getting it fixed? What vendors have the DS header(or headers) and how much $ does it cost. I have gone threw two of those refurbished headers from BG and it has cracked again  dam thing.

chirs

headers are available from, Terry Houston, Postons, ATR, and Hooker as far as i know. and they all seem to be pricey (500+)

How noticable does the header leak sound???? Does it sound anything like a blown exhaust gasket on a v8 with headers!!!

I've got poor gas milage, exhaust smell rich... but it always sounded loud!!!! It's been repaired once by previous owner but it looks like a poor weld job!!!

Is there any other way to detect!!!

thanks...

you can order just the driver side header for 266 bucks with shipping included from Poston's and get it to your door within 3 days...

Mine was cracked very bad, so sounds may very. Mine started off as a little ticking noise that got downright LOUD as it got worse. Mine has 42k and only had a filter and exhaust when it first cracked... go firgure.

you spool might be faster b/c no more exhaust pressure is leaking out before the turbo.

The turbo spools slower because instead of the exhaust pressure going to and turning the turbine wheel it is bleeding off into space

i know that. in fact i edited my post after that but then i realized he asked how much better will it run once it is fixed so i answered that question.

I doubt you will notice any difference at all excepting the scanmaster numbers perhaps on ticking exhaust leak.

Gotta be a rather large leak to kill spoolup of a properly setup turbo.

I just did the one in the GN because the ticking was annoying me.

Wish I could say the performance was a lot better.

Just my .02.

fix it asap.... you will be happy..

i bought my car, with a cracked ds, so i was not sure if there would be any difference.

yes there is, car pulls alot harder.
