hey guys. i recently took a look at an 87 gn that was sitting in some guys driveway. there are no bumper fillers, weatherstripping is bad, paint is very dull, truck deck is rusted (although the inside is pretty clean), and the car has been sitting with all the fluids still in it for 7 years. on the plus side, the car has t-tops and it is a complete car. i took a look on ebay and saw a few 87's going for around 10k in really good shape so i was wondering. does 2500 sound fair or would i look like a retard? thanks in advance guys.

miles ??? condition of the interior ??? how are the rocker panels and under the car ?? doors?? sounds like a project car .

the car has 95k miles on it and the only problems wwith the interior that i saw were a few tears in the upholstery. underneath the car has some surface rust but i didnt notice anything too bad. exhaust was pretty beat though but thats an easy fix

You must be looking at one of Grumpy's cars

How much more money do you have to spend to fix all those things?

Wouldn't it be better to wait & pay more for somthing you have to spend less time on?

remember this is a 20+year old PERFORMANCE car. Really easy to turn it into a $$$$ pit..

well the reason i was looking at this is because it is a project car really. i want something that i can rebuild myself and work on myself. that and i cant afford a really nice one  and im not too worried about the coast of the parts really. i have a loong time to work on it.

Depends on how much work your doing yourself? Painting can cost 3k to WILD$$ if you have someone else do it. If your painting it yourself then maybe ok.

Parts add up $$. 7 years not run. It might run good & it may not. you could be chasing demons to get it tuned.

Have you ever owned one of these cars before?

We need to straighten one thing out, you said PLUS side it has T tops-- that's a big Negative. Especially on a car that's been exposed to the elements.
It could be a rusty nightmare under that trim between the windshield and the panels.

when it was raining a few days ago i took a ride to go see it for that exact reason. the head liner wasnt wet and the top of the car looked fine so hopefully its ok

I'd say 2500 is a reasonable offer. It's at least a good starting point.
