Hi
I am looking at a TTA that is putting out about 525 HP and has had the tranny rebuilt and is suppose to be bullit proof. The rear, though, is original.
My concern is that it is not strong enough. Is there a way to strengthen the rear or should I swap it out for an aftermarket one or is there a way to strengthen the factory rear. How weak are they too.
Lastly, if the opinion is to go aftermarket, any suggestions as to which one ?
Thanks

Your not going to break the rear. Wear out the POSI yes.. break the gears or axles.. nah...

I've tried unsuccessfully :D

Aftermarket.. sky is the limit.

Strange and Currie make nice rear ends if you can ever break yours.

1.5x short times here and no problems. I also have excessive wear on the lower bushings if their still there:D

If you go aftermarket, I had a Moser with 4:11 s in it in my last TA, a 1998 ram air with over 500 RWHP.

launched the heck out of it on slicks and never broke anything.

was a good rear end for sure.
