MAN.......That must have been a LOOOONG 20 Years !!!!!

You have no idea! At least I had other fun cars to play with during the wait like the 1972 SportWagon I had that I built as a GS455, that was fun to run down mustangs and Z28s at the strip, 4800 lbs and ran low 13s on street tires!

I became a believer.

In 1988, I had purchased a new Corvette. It had 245 hp with an automatic. That thing had such good low end torque. My son told me about the Grand Nationals and how they were V-6s, and how quick they were. I laughed to myself, being from the 50's and 60's era of cars.
A little later, I pulled up beside a friend of my son's who had an '87 GN. We went from about a 30mph roll. He just walked off and left me!

I became a believer and now own one.

Hey WARP6,
There is a good chance our stealth cars have been at piedmont on the same day. I can only go on Sunday afternoons because of my job.
Maybe Lookquick, you, and myself can hook up there one Sunday when they open back up in Feb.
What were your 60' times on that 7.4 run?
What tires and wheels were you running?
Good to hear from you.
Bogie, that was on Weld Draglites BFG Drag Radials (275/50) It pulled consitent high 1.60's 60 ft. That was many engines ago! Let's see...headgasket blew so I pulled the engine to build a killer combo. Then the thrust messed up on my crank, then I had an Econo-roller fail, then the studs broke on my girdle. I'm scared to death to kick it now!
