My cold/hot lever will not go all the way to the right (cold). I took the glovebox off and found that the switch is connected to a metal wire that is in turn connected to an arm that obviously opens the heater valve. I need to move the cable about a 1/4" towards the passenger side of the car or I need to shorten the screw that is coming into the compartment in order for the lever to go all the way to the left. I feebly attempted to detach the metal wire but the plastic arm seems that it is going to break. Anyone have any ideas of thoughts?
Some reason I can't post a pic of it.

Pics aren't loading properly right now but there's no adjustment on the cable. You may have something in the box that's blocking the lever/door from moving all the way though.

Here is the pic. Any suggestions? I can't see where the other side of the threaded bolt goes to under the hood.

Mine's the same way, doesn't go all the way. But doesn't seem to effect the function of it. Blows ice cold AC and plenty of hot air. So I just live with it as is, why mess with it and break something or make it worse.

That arm doesn't go to the heater control valve it goes to the blend air door. HCV is either on or off depending on whether the function lever is in heat. The blend air door as it suggests blends the warm and cold air to regulate temp. It's in the heater box.

It is just one of those little things that annoys me. Nothing major though.

So it is where the heater core is? I have to take it apart as if I were changing the core?

Heater core in under the hood. To take the heater core out you have to take the top of the box under the hood off then it's right there.;)

I thought that was a big pain in the a$$ to do. I am not very mechanically skilled :(

The core itself is pretty easy and most of the bolts are on top. I use a 1/4" drive socket and ratchet with a 3" extension to take them off. It's not much harder than doing plugs.;)

It's a pretty easy job. The worst part is keeping track of the 50 million different sized fasteners they used in that area.
