Sorry guys, Im helpless :frown:

Chris's book says tap a 1/4 check ball into it the feed hole.

my housing seems to have a steel sleeve in this hole with a check ball behind it.

a governor check ball wont even fit into the hole (after trying it pushed the sleeve farther down)

and a 1/4 is way to fat, and if the steel sleeve was gone the hole would be to big.

any suggestions? jb weld?

I won't speak for him, but Im not 100% sure Chris does this anymore. I would just use the stiffer red 1-2 spring and call it good. I wouldn't block the feed hole. I never have and I always use the CK kit with great results

hmmm

from my reading it seems best tho, because I have a 3200 converter.

Nothing is going to break cause everything is billet, even the converter and band anchor, i could probably get away with blocking the 3/4 but im not.

i have a large black spring that came with a transgo kit. the kit also says to put a smaller pink spring on the shaft.

I would like to try blocking it tho?

I have used a cup plug before but it came with an old art carr kit. I would remove the check ball and sleeve with an EZ out(or drill it out) and press in the governor check ball. I don't know how the black spring compares to CKs red spring, but i have this setup on a customers GN that runs 6.50s in the 1/8th and his 1-2 is very firm at WOT and nice and crisp at part throttle with just the Spring and a CK servo and no blockoff. I do not install the middle valve body check ball. He also runs a very loose 3600 stall

hmmm, thats the thing tho, if the sleeve was gone both the 1/4 and governer ball would be to small.

I could see about finding some plug and using locktight or something

If you must block it off get a small threaded pipe plug tap the hole and insert the plug with some loctite. I have done this several times only when asked otherwise i use a ck shift kit and servo with excellent results.

the tap to use is a 1/4- 20 tap an and allen head screw. but when you do this it will have a harsh downshift when it goes into low gear.

I wouldn't block it, if you have a big servo & an Alto red band you're going to have have a firm PT shift. You don't want it to get annoying when you are cruising it.

I blocked mine and I just finished taking it out and replacing it with a stock housing and red spring, the 2-1 kickdown would snap your teeth together sometimes and I have a 3000 stall.
