I'm in the process of rebuilding my stock turbo (87 GN) and was wondering if there is a safe way to clean the carbon build-up on the turbine wheel? I have access to a glass bead machine where I work and would like to know if this would be a safe method. I am also porting the elbow & enlarging the wastegate hole while I have it apart. There was .015" end play in the shaft but the turbine or compressor wheels have not made any contact with the housing.

Thanks Mike

The instructions in the rebuild kit I bought from Turbo City suggested glass beading as the best way to clean them.

Thanks for the reply
