Just sharing my aggravation...

I posted on craigslist for someone to come out to my house and remove all the aftermarket radio stuff in my Limited and install the OEM head unit and remove all wires, etc. I posted on the "barter" section meaning in exchange for the work they would keep all the aftermarket stuff.

I had tons of people reply and of course I chose a scammer.

Guy came out a month ago. He removed the Pioneer head unit and then said he couldn't install the OEM head unit since it was missing a piece (I know nothing about car audio so I believed him). He left w/ the Pioneer head unit (my mistake).

Well low and behold I call and call and call and never a returned call. Now a month has passed.

I googled his name and found that he scammed several people on a cellular phone website. Others in anger posted his home #, address, etc. I called his home and after his mom passed him off to me he acted indifferent and said that I gave him the radio. I threatened to file a police report and he basically dared me. Well, the cop just came here and took all the info and is out in front calling the scammer to tell him his options.

Cop just came in and we did a 3 way call w/ the scammer and he is paypalling me fair market value for the head unit.

Goes to show you can't trust even the seemingly nicest people. :(
