how to do street mods on 87 gn

I have cold air kit, 2.5" exhaust no converter, mean ass shift kit , 8mm wires, new delco plugs,all filters, and I want to check for a chip just dont know how to check for one and motor is stock and I do want to race it is there any stuff to do first before other stuff, can Yall help me I' m in between budds creek and capital racetrack I have the TURBO fever!!!!!

Ya might get a few more responces in the General forum. But might start with a new "hot wired" fuel pump (Walbro), a scan tool to keep track of whats going on, then possibly a chip (turbotweak). There are many upgrades to do along the way.
