It's always something with this car. This time I was cruising through the ATM machine to get some cash and head to the track. I rolled the window down and now it won't roll back up. It had done this once or twice before and has seemed to roll up a bit slower lately. I figure the motor has gone out, but what I want to know is how to get the window back up until I can go have the motor replaced. Any suggestions would be nice as it is calling for rain this weekend...

About 3 years ago I was at the track and the driver's window refused to go up. Since my next pass was imminent I quickly removed the door panels in the staging lane and just tapped and banged and swore at the motor until the window went up.

I haven't done anything to it since and it still works, albeit slowly. (I would be lost without my favorite tool...the hammer.):D

Hell, go try it....the advice was free.

I just went through this myself a couple of months ago.Go to the fuse panel and look for the curcuit breaker in the top middle of the panel[metal fuse-like can].This feeds power to the door window motors.Pull off the door interior panels. You'll find the window switches. There's a big red wire that gets cut along the way, inside the door.Pull off the interior trim panel and inside the opening, you'll see the harness for the door power[it has a plug if I remember correctly].Check for continuity through the wire to the switch.I found mine was really high[500,000 ohms,HUH?].So I pulled the wire and low and behold....it was broken in the area where the wire goes through the boot to the door.I cut out the old wire and spliced in a new one.All is well.Cheaper than a hotwire kit for the door too.Hope that helps a bit.
Forgot to mention at the time this happened,my driver's door window switch for the passenger door wouldn't work the passenger's window, but the passenger's door window switch would work the passenger's side window.GNTTYPE.org has a good schematic of the door wiring controls if you need it.
I think I'll check the passenger's door window switch wiring next. It's getting kinda slow now that I've fixed the driver's door switch.Shoulda' listened to my buddies at the electronics repair shop and checked it when I was doing the driver's door.
