What definitive markings do the '03 Cobras have? I need to be wary of them..

From the front end they are relatively easy to spot. The whole center section of the hood is raised (not like a cowl induction hood) and the lower portion of the front bemper cover has blacked out oval pods at the outer corners that house the round driving lights. From the back would be SVT badges.
From the side and back, the 2003's look pretty much like a 1999 or 2001 Cobra so it comes down to the front end.
There are many different wheel styles between those years, so I wouldnt go by wheels.

Check out the pics in my sig. They are very easy to spot from the rear as well since they have a much more rounded butt compared to the angular rear bumpers on all the other Mustangs. Also, the spoiler (on the ones with a spoiler) is flush with the rear deck. All the other Cobras have a spoiler that has a gap between the wing and the deck.

Wow, I'm not much of a Ford fan and didn't know anything about Cobra #'s. Interesting:

My 89' TTA: 330 RWHP 397 TQ
2003 Cobra: 404 RWHP 389 TQ

I guess that explains the near identical 1/4 times and Cobra's faster trap speeds.

Yeah, I have been very impressed with the numbers put up by that engine. I have been less than impressed by the pansy a**, "made of glass", IRS rear end.

I updated the pics (as I type this) on my Cobra page to include the stock and air filter dynos if you want to compare to the TTA charts.

Doesn't the rear bumper say "COBRA" and from the side they still have the Cobra snake emblems???

Ok, I'm blue oval fan, but do do love the GN's and T Types. From what I have seen, if these guys do any mods to their Cobra's ya need to learn how to tell what they are from looking at the back of the car. "nuff said? ,,,,Mark:D

Yeah, from a roll. The Cobras still suck from a dig without some
drag radials and finesse though. Wheel hop sucks bigtime.

HOw about by the But F@$#ing ugly rims,,a four cylinder Lx from the 80's has better rims:eek:

Not a good debating point when you start going after something like wheels. Geezz, its that competition thing that is so good. makes everyone do better, even with ugly wheels. lol

I think you are crazy buddy! The whells on the '03 are bad ass!!
and the sound of the blower on the video is just toooo cool. I would LOVE to have an '03 cobra!! A blue one. The electric blue with the chrome wheels

I also LOVE the 03 Cobras, but might wait for the 04 or 05 when ever the new body comes out in Cobra form..

But those wheels are cheap looking --go on admit it ....:p

I suggest going to a Ford website to find out.

So the Ford site has pics of previous years too? So I can compare?

Thanks for your useless post - now go back to playing with yourself..

To the USEFULL posters here, Thanks!

Hopefully I won't have to worry about IDing them for too much longer. :D

So only the 2003 has the SVT emblem on the rear?
