Kirban used to sell a booklet "1984-1987 Turbo regal Power Antenna Removal and Installation Guide" by Pete Serio that details in 21 pages how to do it. Don't know if it is still available...or if you may find a how to on here somewhere...

you might also be able just to unscrew the bezel that clamps it to the fender and remove that only so you can paint underneath...

Yep, it's a PIA to get the entire unit out. When I painted my car I just removed the antenna mast, ferrel(sp?), and plastic spacer. Then put tape over the threads.

hello people; This book and the how to fix a window rattle book should be here in a file for every one to see. I've said this before but no one hears me.
I go to differant sites where this is done with similar meterial and it makes sense to me. Why it hasn't is beyond me. I guess it keeps money moving around.

Like Jay said I believe you can remove just the top of the antenna mount though its a long threaded tube.

It's a bit of a pain to remove the complete antenna assembly...

On a side question, I pulled the antenna setup to put a cable in. I see in the link there is a reference to small nuts n bolts to put where the ferules were. Anyone know what size to get?
