how to remove the headlamp switch "pull type"

Help,
Went to do some work to the dash in my 83 regal limited. I can not get the pull handle out. I know that there is a "trigger" somewhere on it that you have to hit for the shaft to come out. I can not find it. I can not get to the switch easy either.

This is another reason that I am switching to the rocker style SOON.

You have a lot of cussing to go through yet. You will need to pull it to the on position first, then with some care use a 1/4" drive rachet to remove the bolts holding it in. I've been told you can get it with a allen wrench to hit the botton that removes the shaft but I had no luck doing it myself so I removed it with the pannel still on it.

It turned out ver y easy!!!!!!!

The knob on the end has a trigger that removed just the knob NOT the shaft. Then remove the 2 screws and out comes the switch. I did find the trigger that removes the whole shaft also, but I am pretty sure that it wouldnt have be able to be accessed with out the switch removed.

Very weird. Mine didn't have that on it.
