Is there a tell tale sign as to whether the bumper shock is bad, a broken weld, a measurement, or something.
Thanks
Greg

Define "bad" please. It's a pressurized hydrolic shock. The pressure is most likely gone by now but the oil is still in it unless you can find an oil leak by them.

I dont know really, i sold them to a board member and he gave them to his body guy and he said they were junk. I gave him a full refund after shipping them back to me and i have several sets and just want to make sure they are still good before i sell them.

If they're looking for NOS they still won't have pressure in them now. Unless they've been in a wreck they should be fine for most people. Call Brian at G body and get his opinion on your shocks.

If they are leaking they are bad if their not they are fine. I compressed a set in a press and they came right back out of the bore. They are ment to give in a low speed impact. they are almost like a regular shock. I got rear ended in my 86 and the rear bumper was pushed in. I kicked the corner of the rear bumper back out and it popped back out. I parted a lot of these cars and never seen one leaking. I think the guy found out he didnt need them so he sent them back. I would really like to see how they tested them to find out they were junk:confused: Charlie is probably right about them losing their pressure over the years.
