Hi is there a way to test coilpack at home with out buying anything i have a meter can i use that and also what other cars use the same coilpacks as the 87GN?

To test the coil pack, set your meter on ohms and measure between the towers of each coil (front to back). Should measure around 13K (or 13,000 ohms). If any of the three coils measures very far off this, then it needs to be replaced. I found a coil at my local parts house, in stock for $46.00. Works fine, and lifetime warranty, hehe!

DID THE TEST GOT A READING OF 12.7k THANKS ALOT YOU SAVED ME SOME MONEY.

If they are all reading about 12.7, then you should be fine. My center one was open (very high impedance), and the car would only handle about 3 or 4 psi boost and would backfire when slowing down from high speed (80 mph or higher). Took a long time to figure out what was wrong!
