O and A call it Howie math when it comes to his subscribers.... Howie says he got so many listeners for just him coming to Serius but in reality Howie is counting every new subcriber and all the Dodge models sold with a radio in it and the ones on the lot not sold. Id really like to know how many followers he actually has left after all the BS hes been throwing around. When O and A were scheduled to appear on Letterman Howie claimed he could stop that from happening. Never did and by the way they will be on again in Dec. Hes just grabbing for anything now, I just think hes a sellout. Always said I will never I could never and lately thats all he does is go back on his comments from previous years. Maybe he ll come around and get it together before its too late but I think his ego wont let him.

LOL.... I guess O and A have to spin that 700%+ growth somehow don't they? Funny thing is with Sirius I can listen to Howard or O/A if I choose(since their on free radio now).... Whereas with XM.. I don't really know what I'm paying for. No sports, crappy music, and their 'exclusive' talent is now censored and available for free.....yeah .... who's the sellout?

But I guess you do have that 30min a week of Oprah. Oprah will work a total of 58.5 hours for XM for $55 million over the next 3 years. What a deal... LOL .... and I can get an hour a day of her on tv for free... which should be enough for anybody.

2 things. I used to listen to O & A when they where on WAAF here in Boston, they were real funny back then. Now they have just a messed up way about them that really is nothing like what put them on the map. I think they are sellouts and are following Stern to a T. There is a lot of new talent coming out that will take them down.

I work for a retail/wholesale company and we sell Sirius and XM as well as do the installs. I honestly can't remember the last time I sold an XM piece. However, I had to call my supplier just yesterday and he can not keep in some of the most popular Sirius pieces in stock.

This does not apply to me but I was also told by the same person that NASCAR is switching to Sirius to, apperantly because of the growth Sirius has.

sirius kicks ass not for stern but for all the stations. like said earlier 700%+++ in a year, please if half of them came for stern then it was worth it for sirius. oa suck i tried many times while on 92.3 and on 94.1 and they are as bad a dave le roth. do yourself a favor and get sirius.

I think Stern is the best interviewer i've heard in a long time. Usually you hear same questions asked to a guest that may be touring talk show circuits to promote something but when they get on Sterns show you hear things that have never been revealed to anyone. And funny. HOWEVER-
When Stern switched to satelitte he had us hanging in suspence with that deep secrets thing that was to be revealed on sattelite. When I wanted to subscribe to the Sirius Canada, they said no Stern for three or four months. So i though forget it. I can still remember going into bestbuy to check out the sat receivers, 8 of 10 sold were rtn'd 'cus customers thought they could get Stern. (as per conversations with Sales clerks). Hopefully there will be a hack to get him online for free soon,
only because I 'm still pissed at Sirius Canada, otherwise i'd pay
As for the others that bad mouth him for the last umteen years predicting/waiting for him to fail- jealous.

I spend 75% of my day in my car. I love listening to Howard. Two channels of funny S___. Plus All the other stuff on there. I had XM in our Avalanche originaly and thought it was cool, I went out and bought Sirius for my car and realized as whole how much better it is than XM, this was 5 months before Howard! Then the wife wanted Sirious in the Avi too!.

Even if only 2 million subscribed for Howard is is extremely succesfull. I don' think there is anyone else that could draw that many people to pay anything subscription. Heck, how many people need to subscribe to a magazine to make it a success?

People mention about the 4 day work week and the Vacation. How many days in a Year does Brad Pitt work? I don't see anyone complaining about him. Heck, Howard has gotten up extremely early for over 20 years. Not to many Celebs do that and actually go to work everyday. I say good for him for getting the money!
Plus the show runs an average of over 5 hours evryday now, some days he has gone 6 hours with very little commercials. He is on the air more now than when he was on crappy radio! Well worth my $12.95!

plus the fact that oa only brought over like 20k tops. compare that to the few "low balling" 2mil and just do the math. plus if you hate stern there is no better "com. free" radio around. xm is full of com. on all stations sirius only on talk and only 10min a hr.

Howard only needed 1 million subscribers to break even, if I would bet the ranch that 1/2 of their subscribers chose Sirius because of him alone. I listened to O&A for a year. I know all of the inside jokes and they just flat out suck. Anthony is the only talent on that show. Opie brings nothing to the table and is a glorified board operator. I am embarrased for him when I listen to the show. Jim Norton also has no talent. He just says the worst things in the world that you can think of for shock value and it gets old fast. It takes no talent to just come up with the crudest thing you can think of. Its funny until you get to know him and know that is his one trick. The people they have working for them also add nothing to the show> At least Howards people actually come up with somewhat funny bits, and Howard himself actually works hard on his show to make it funny, while O&A wing it on a daily basis and it shows.

I had 4 XM subs and switched them all the Sirius to get Howard back. That was an 8 sub swing by 1 person. I remember before O&A were on Free Fm saying how they had more listeners and that Sirius would NEVER have more subs than XM, well that is about to change, and in just over a year of Howard being on Sirius. Yea, Sirius got ripped off when it came to Howard's deal.
