I don't have to defend Rush. He is doing a pretty good job and in the end he will come out of it alright. It has already painted the prosecution in a pretty bad light. To enforce the law, you have to obey the law.

I am not saying that Republicans are not wanting to clean up the airways. I AM saying this is also been requested by the folks in the other party. It is a bi-partisan action.

If both parties are doing something you don't like, you could be blaming both.

The SNL scandal happened under the GOP when they caved in to the PAC that wanted less banking oversight. So those criminals stole peoples hard earned money and then went to Country Club Prisions to comfortably wait while the money they Stole grew. Those criminals are out now enjoying their spoils. What Stern does on air is no where near what that drug addict did. If you are no saint why do you care what goes on over the airwaves? Change the radio station, you are concerned that he "harasses" overpaid movie stars? Did your parents tell you non GOP believers were evil, I doubt you came up with that on your own.

uhh .... screw you. Grown ups make the decisions??? who the hell are you to say that to anyone. Howard Stern has the highest rated and most syndicated radio show ever... You cant dispute that, its a known fact. Check anywhere, Im not gonna sit here and google it up for you... THATS why this whole thing is such a big deal, hes not some underground radio personality, hes a HUGE media personality.

As for your kids, maybe you should do some active parenting and maybe watch what they are listening to... HEs on from 6 to 10 AM, shouldnt your kids be in school at that time? and if not I hope that a child of the age that would be negatively affected by him would have one or another parent or someone else available to make sure he or she is listening to music instead of Howard.

I dont have the figures because honestly I dont feel like sitting here for 1/2 hour looking it up... use GOOGLE if you need proof otherwise look at how big and popular he is and you can stop talking out of your ass.

Just for ****s and giggles I looked up and he has 1.05 million listeners in downstate NY listening to WXRK (his home station). Ok so maybe Billion was an exaggeration, who knows. Hes Syndicated in Canada too.

People like Stern and supporters crying "free speech" are the one's threatening our rights by abusing them. Using free speech as an excuse to talk about the worthless CRAP that comes out of that show is to exemplify that maybe "free speech" wasn't such a hot idea after all and does need to be regulated. Even the Press knows that sometimes it's prudent NOT to air something. Just because they have a right to do something doesn't mean it should be done. People of the last 20 years or so seem to have the most trouble with this, whereas the 200 years before that it was just understood. I guess we're dealing with the "weakest" generation now. Maybe that comes along with being the first generation in a long time that hasn't been subject to a draft? Less appreciation and judgment for what's really important. No knowledge of what rights really are, other than an excuse to offend, sensationalize and create BS controversy.

Restraint and judgment = continued freedom

Wanton abuse of freedom = change on the rise (rightfully so)

Abuse it, you lose it. Thankfully, there are some agencies out there taking a stand before it has to go to some major amendments. Self-policing is better than an overall change that will affect the U.S. for generations.

But who are you to tell someone what to listen to? Obscenity is relative. eg. What is obscene to John Ashcroft ( dancing, playing cards) might not be obscene to you or me. Most parents that complain about Stern should realize that their children are learning much worse from their peers in school.

I think what is trying to be said is this...the constitution allowed free speech to the people so that they may speak thier mind about the govt and such without persecution.I would like to have seen someone speak out about their dislike for the british govt while in England then.You know thats where they got the saying "OFF WITH THEIR HEAD!".Basically that is just what I beleive I have learned from history in school.The right to protest is freedom of speech,but taking society farther in the gutter is detrimental to our society.Remember when people used to leave their front doors unlocked?I don't.People have been taking their interpretation of the bill of rights too far for a long time and society has paid for it in many ways.I would like you to tell me how society has changed for the better socially since the early 60s.I can change the channel easily and have plenty of times.The people who don't actually worry me as to that they may actually be encourageable enough to do something stupid just because something they heard on the radio.I know most people are not that way,but you must admit there are those out there.Remember the show jackass and all the kids that hurt themselves and blamed the show?That was the kids fault and noone elses but they were of weak enough mind to actually do it.Remember the movie "the program" where students laid in the middle of a road for a stunt.Then some idiots in real life tried it and died.I could come up with a hundred examples of why this stuff hurts us.Nothing really against Howard or any of those,just the fact that there ARE idiots out there that take this kind of stuff way too far.
