hughes stall converter

A friend gave me a 3500 hughes red converter. Hughes will rework it to a2800 or 3000 for $250.00. Do you guys think it is worth messing with or not.

I like it no problems, the part # im using is 21-30L H. D. lock up.
on a 2004r trans with 3500 stall.
