Hey Lou.
I stopped at a McDonalds today out in the Ladera Ranch area and when i came out, there was an elderly couple checking out my GN.
They told me that they have an 87 with 9600 original miles on it. I told them about you (they'd never heard of you) in case they needed any work done on it.

Guy, your'e cable was a cobbled aftermarket one that was deposited in the trash. The positive cable is now available as a reproduction through Highway stars but expensive. They have a lot of hard to find parts available. It would be worth checking them out.
