I was out looking to buy a truck today to haul my GN around. I found the truck I wanted I then went to the finance department to see if I qualified for the loan (I knew I would) Then I got hit with a SORRY you dont qualify ......  so I asked the guy why...., they said I had too many inquiries on my credit report , these inquiries were from when I bought my wife a new car last year and co-signed for my mom a new car. The dealers just send your info to all of there lenders and choose who has the better deal (so they say) .... because of this I have 48 yes 48 inquiries on my credit report now and this has lowered my credit rating now I have to put down a large down pament on the truck(that I do not have)... this is bs

Do any of you guys know how to get these inquiries off a credit report , I thought they fall of after six months....I guess its not true because the ones on my report are over a year old , some were two years old. Do I need to get a lawyer to remove them ?

Vent over
Jesse

Jesse, you need to contact the three major credit agencies and request these items be removed. At the least, you are intitled to have a written reponse on your reports saying what the inquiries are all about. The game of no/low interest is just another bait and switch which the car dealers are using to get people in the door to beat up on you and sell you a car and make money on the loan. Tell these idiots that you have found another dealership that is giving you the special rates and see how quick they change their tune. Search around, you will find a dealership willing to give you the financing if the rest of your credit is strong. :D

Yep, as stated above, call all 3 of them and let them know the situation. Everytime you apply for credit or have someone check ur credit it goes on as an inquiry. Its rediculous if u ask me, since like you stated it does nothing but hurt your credit.

I went to buy a boat 4 years ago, and the stupid saleman shopped our loan over the net and had over 50 inquiries on us. Would not have bugged me too bad other than we told him to go to one lender only. This is a common thing. You should always just find your own financing before going to buy anything on time. Most people don't realize it, but you can go directly to GMAC, FOMOCO, or Chrysler Credit and get approval prior to even going to the dealer. Keeps the blood thirsty dealers from shopping you out and not going thru the manufacturer's own credit companies. They don't get kick backs from them.
