Last night Bruce accidently deleted it, I was on the phone with him when he did it. I only created the second posting because I was told to by Bruce, got a problem with that call him but I won't be around for the responce. I only posted my question because I thought it would be easier for the OP to post a link to a different message board where the file could be found than sending email messages and PM's back and forth to everybody who wanted to see it and I was seeking clarification before I made the suggestion.

Here is my proposed solution.
How's this can we post the NAME of the file so the interested parties can go to google and find it themselves?
Seem to me that could be a win win solution for our current paltry moral dilemma.

Morals and standards are worth the space. This mentality of just letting it go is what got Europe into the shape it was in during the late 1930's. You let something cancerous alone to it's own devices and it will consume all. If trying to get a few people to adhere to a very simple and professional set of guidelines takes up space for a short time, it's worth the trouble and bandwidth to accomplish that goal. Do you let a child get by with taking a small toy from another kid? No you take the time very quickly to educate them, if not, you will have a real problem in the future. That is what is going on here. My guideline has always been, would whatever I'm doing embarrass me if my young daughter saw it? I don't think too many would be willing to share these types of things with their young kids, if so, then your troubles run much deeper than what is going on here. This subject is dead, done, and set in stone. The moderators will pull threads that don't meet the guidelines. If you feel this is too punitive, well, I can only wonder how you are with other simple rules in society.
I hear screams of don't force your moral view on me, well, in this closed environment, why then are you trying to force your lack of morality on us? You all now know the rules. My regards for the people like Jack, Nick, and Jesse for the work they are doing and what they put up with to keep this the quality place it is. Most people here need to know you guys are all doing this as volunteers, without any compensation at all. If bringing eyeballs to a forum that will eventually be supported by ad revenue is your goal I dare to say I feel your going about it in 100% the wrong way.

This forum has traditionally used the 'work warning' moniker to warn people away from risqué material or material than would not be suitable in a suit and tie 'work' environment, this tradition has been abruptly curtailed and that's where I suspect most of the problem lies. These locked threads were not out of character for this forum but out of character to the new direction the new owners of this forum apparently want to convey to potential advertisers.
I think the sort of person who is so easily offended by mild profanity or 'gasp' a woman in a bikini is not the type of person who would own a Turbo Buick, not the type of person to wrench on their own car and certainly not the type of person who has traditionally populated these pages.
You will not be selling Ivory soap ads, you will not be selling ad space to the rainbow coalition or the triangle foundation, you will be selling ads to companies whose #1 customer is a good old American alpha male, exactly the type of person who would appreciate good old American non PC humor. This forum is for mainly the members, as well as a marketplace for businesses. The forum survives by it's vendors. The very same people that are here to help service the many request for help from the members. Why you bring them into the fray only leads me to laugh. I would be willing to bet that at most vendors shops, including Bruce's, there are many Snap-On, Mac or other calendars. And (gasp) they have women in bikinis. SO, if its ok for them to see them everyday at ther workplace,do you think they would mind us seeing them occasionally at our place of recreation. Let us not forget that, this is for fun and to propagate all our need for speed. I for one dont like being told what to do at work, thank God i work alone and dont have to talk to anyone if I dont feel like it, so for sure i dont want to be told what i cant see on the Web. I do see everyones points and sides. I can see where nudity and all out porn is not appropiate. But we can cuss by mispelling words purposely, but everyone knows what that person means. Isnt that the same thing as saying it outright. I like Bruce and respect him as a person and a vendor. I have talked to him a couple times, he has ALWAYS been fair and willing to help and I never bought a thing from him. But i do feel that the rules may be a little strict for a site made up off "Alpha males" ( Metal).

The latest error was my fault. Pat and I were talking and I went to delete our chat as it was just between us. The fact is the thread had deletions due to me and me alone. 100% my fault. wasn't an act of anarchy just a screw up. I made an error and didn't click a certain box. ALL was MY fault and I take the blame. As far as losing members, well so be it, but I am getting all sorts of responses to the "new" changes and 98% of them are in favor and POSITIVE!

First off, I'm sorry striker if my replies upset you. I was doing as most others here, and that was stating my viewpoint with passion. By the way, just because my view is different, doesn't mean I am an idiot. If I am to be perceived an idiot, I would want it to be based on a lack of intelligence, not because I don't agree with a lack of morality. I respect everyones right to speak their mind, and encourage it. I believe that is what this thread has become, a basic discussion of that very thing. If you are through with the thread, then at least we can agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I think all that the mods are trying to do here is to educate people as to what is and isn't exceptable. That plain and simple. No one is trying to tell you what you can or can't think, or trying to get you to church on Sunday, or trying to change your family dynamics. They just want to set a level for the tone of this forum.
So where is the problem at with that? I certainly would not go up to a guys car and paint it black, when its yellow, just because I don't like yellow. I would appreciate that it's his car and he has the right to have it anyway he wants. It's the same premis here.

Like I said, sorry if you were offended striker, but that is just what that link did to many here also, it offended them. And offending anyone was not my intention, just as that link wasn't meant to be either.



p.s., we do have no calenders with bikini girls, guys, or anything of any questionable depictions anywhere in our facility. We do have several dog calenders though with naked dogs in them, but they are there for Harley, Bruce's Rhodesian Ridgeback
