Already did the tv cable adjustment. I dont think its that it's like i hit an rpm limiter when i floor it at part throttle you know what i mean?

How many rpms are you getting up to? If its over 5000 you could go into valve float, not good

Might want to ask over in the tranny section too

Dont do it again unless you want your pistons to smack your valves.
You need to park it until you get this problem fixed. Hopefully you didnt damage anything already. Talk to a tranny guru asap (I am definitely NOT one;) )

WOW!

Keep lisening to what Haper saids and you won't go too far.

Take the car to Ivan and see if he could fix your tranny problem.
Good Luck.

Not to sound to sarcastic but Dan in this case you truly dont know what your talking about and I bet it wouldn't be the first time either. For your information i do have a boost gauge autometer i do have a scanmaster i do have an adjust 237 fuel pressure regulator(but not on the car following harper's opinion) turbojorge can chime in about him. And no my ds header is not cracked. I wrote this out of good faith and I get a smarta$$ remark like your's?

Harper's Science???

Evidently crack is legal where you live, and Harper is smokin it!!
Absolutely a bunch of crap!! Find a new mechanic!!:D :D

Hey Chuck you and my wife say the same thing. I wish i can get a new mechanic but he put in my reman engine (because the old one that he rebuilt blew up) and i think the warranty would be void if i go to another mechanic. So I think I'm stuck between a rock and a very hard place.

What was the reason the last one blew up? I was wondering if anyone else had any opinions on Rick Harper? I have sent him a few e-mails before and he seems to know what hes talking about. Tho I have never had any personal dealings with him. Has anyone had any problems w/t machine work his machinist performs? I was considering Having some machine work done by Harpers Machinist. Harper claimed that if I arrived early in the morning that his guy could do my Machine work and Balancing the same day.
gndriver if your trans is not shifting correctly under wot and hits the rev limiter then its a good possibility your governor has thrown its spring. thats exactly the result of this. the car will shift fine except under wot. and hitting the rev limiter isnt good thats over 6000rpms! keep doing it and this motor will break too. be careful until you find the problem.

later

Funny thing about Harper's.... for every one good comment, I've heard two that were not good. I have had no personal dealings with him, I avoided him a few years back due to all the negative comments I heard from the locals in that area.

Couple of thots

Rick Harper of Harper's racinhg rebuit my engine said that he would leave the stock on so that the seal would seat properly and the pressure wouldn't increase or decrease.

Ed, do you know what Harper meant by the comment that "the seal would seat properly and the pressure wouldn't increase or decrease??"

The problem w/ the hi shift points could be the governor spring has been thrown out of location. There's a simple fix for that w/ a setscrew and a tap.. E-mail me and I'll explain.

As for the idle at 90 BLm.. that's, I think, the max fuel that the ecm can pull out. As was mentioned B4, it could be the regulator.
If the reg is fubar and the FP is high at idle, it will cause that to happen. You are on the right track w/ the pressure check...

Get back to us once you have the info and we'll go from there..;)

ID OTN KNOW if this has already been posted, lots of replies, but CHECK YOUR EGR VALVE! IF IT IS STUCK, (and ive seen this before) it will belch BLACK SMOKE, and stumble and run like HORSE****!

So make sure that diafram isnt stuck !!!

Went to a tranny place had it checked out. The TCC was sticking open. As for the egr valve I did the suction test and it checked out. The fuel pressure test will have to wait till tomrrow on account of family. Family comes first to me;)

I am far from a tranny expert but I dont see how a stuck TCC can cause it to rev to the moon. But what do I know:confused:

I dont either I might be talking out of my ar$E but if the car down shifted but didnt want to upshift wouldnt the rpm's red line and bounce and keep bouncing at the rev limiter untill the tranny shifted? And would the TCC have any control over that or it might be like chuck hinted maybe the regulator isnt regulating and I'm getting to much gas in the engine bogging it out?

The reason I ask is because the TCC has nothing to do with how the transmission shifts

Get your fuel problem fixed first and then work from there
