Awesome, you lucky dog.I haven't even seen a real GNX in person since the Buick Bash in Cumberland,R.I. in August of 1992.I've seen many pic's because I did an eeenormous amount of research in the last 3 years while making my clone.Oh well some of us aren't so lucky,I drive a fake one quite often  :D

yeah i think i was pretty lucky, i was sitting there drooling on it and he told me to go get him a bottle of water... i thought he was joking at first but he handed me the keys, so my g/f hopped in and went to the gas station, which seemed impossible because i dont know my way around that area, so anyways i get back and hes like, hey did you power brake it? i was like, no? he told me i should have to see how the suspension worked. i was kinda shocked.. the car only had 6200 miles on it! thats almost new, the seats were sooo firm... it was nice

anyways...

did it handle very well, was it tight? i drove #313 and it changed everything for me. i launched it, and it was killer. one of the many reasons i got the rear suspension. now if only someone would make the 16" CORRECT offset replica wheel.

I got to ride in #007 waaaay back in 1987. It was a special moment in my life! I would have liked to drive it for myself, but my buddy was being stingy with the keys!

It launched so much different than my 1986 GN. We would do some practice launches on a country road and the car would raise up what seemed like a foot. That was fun!

does the GNX suspension really provide that much difference in launching on street tires? what about on a modded say 11 second car how would it fare? with slicks?

yeah that "launch stance" that the GNX does is truely a trademark...to me the GNX is the greatest car ever built...it's just so unique...it looks meaner than sh!t too...that's why i have the wheels...i want to get vents in the fenders one day too...

I guess I never thought about how many people have never seen one in person much less driven one. My buddy Scott has #106 and I've been in it many times. Just lucky in that regard, I guess. No matter how many GN's you've been in, it's still special!

street tires

It launches very well on street tires. You can still spin street tires on a 12 sec car .Did anyone happen to see the gnx vs the callaway vett video that is floating around?Im pretty sure it launches on street tires in that video. On an 11 sec car, im sure you would spin em though not as much.

yeah he demonstrated the suspension to me by power braking it in a parking spot. its truly amazing, it handled soo nice, i like it, i would consider getting that kit from kirbans if i had the extra money to spend. the smile is still on my face :D

I never drove it

but I've been around Ron Joseph's #342. It is immaculate. Cleanest car I've ever seen and that includes new cars of any year!

How far did you freaken go to get water?? lol.

I can add to that. When he let me drive it a yaer ago, I most went crazy. This car is like a brand new car! It's only got 6,500 miles, original everything.

Luigie is a very cool guy.

I would love to drive one once. I have seen videos of the GNX suspension and how it works and stuff. It is pretty cool. GNX is an awesome car for sure. I would still be smiling too.

Kinda like this:

I'm still not convinced it's a Calloway TT in the video. It's awfully friggin lame for a TT V-8....not a chance.

I thought it was just a regular 87 vette vs the GNX to prove some point? GM Brass pissing contest?

Nah, they wouldn't need a GNX for that.:p

That track is Milan BTW.

You can download the magazine article related to the comparison test from my site here. I suggest using "save as" since it's 25MB...not sure why its so big. Anyways the GNX ran 13.26 @ 104 to the Callaway's 13.41 @ 106.
