I'm into another period of hatred with my car. Just today I decided to put the MSD box on with the 2 step. I'm tired of trying to judge boost at the line by the seat of my pants.
So I put everything on....it's not too complex to put it together using the Buick adapter into the coil/module and hooking it all together. Started and ran fine. Then I put the 2 step ground wire on....and the low rpm 2 step worked fine. Played a bit more and the car suddenly stopped. Smelled smoke and found the 8 gauge wire from the alt to the bat shutoff on the back bumper was melting. I quickly shut off the bat switch, unhooked the bat and doused it all with a fire extinguisher.
After cleaning all the fire extinguisher crap out of the car and shop I disconnected what was left of the 8 gauge wire from under the car and at the alt and now the friggin' thing won't start.
I HATE THESE CARS !!!!
