My cars suck

Theres just no possible way anyones car sucks arse as bad as mine does. I've had it 3 years, and have gotten maybe 8 passes out of it. I finally get to the track last night and the motors screwed up again. Go figure. Gee, didn't see that coming, its not it fricking breaks EVERY TIME I LOOK AT IT!! Now I go out this morning to unload it off the trailer, and a bird crapped on it and ate the paint! I knew it would eat the paint, cuz it happened a few weeks ago and ate the paint then too! So heres what at least $35,000 of my hard earned money has gotten me:

A ruined paint job
A junk motor
Make that 2 junk motors
A car that for no good reason refuses to hook
the worlds slowest Gn with $35,000 invested in it

I should have just saved the money and bought someones stage car, it would be cheaper. Or left this one stock, at least then the paint looked good and it was reliable. Hell, it even ran low 13's! How I miss those days. I hate my car and the only reason its not for sale is because I wouldn't wish this peice of junk on my worst enemy. Maybe I'll go find a cliff to drop it off of, its insured for like $22,000. Nothing would make me happier than to smash this pile into a tree and pee on the ashes. Meanwhile guys with half the money in their cars beat them mercilessly and they still live on, but no, not my POS. I baby it, buy it good parts, keep it in a nice garage, what do I get? A broke POS. I miss my camaro. It might have been slow, but it ran. And folks, I don't care how fast your car is, if it don't run it SUCKS AND YOU LOSE!!! AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

I would like to take this oppurotunity to thank Mark Bowler, of Bowlers transmissions, for building the only part of my car that hasn't broke. Thanks Mark, please learn how to build the rest of my car so I can maybe one day enjoy it.

Sorry 'bout the rant, but my life sucks and I felt like sharing.

Sorry to hear all the problems you've had...... Maybe you should just park it in the garage and leave it alone for a while until you figure it what the problem is..... Who built the motor?

Oh trust me, its put up. I don't want to even look at it. I'll just fix up my Lightning, at least it runs. Its a sad day when you gotta rely on a Ford for transportation and fun.

I've said who built the motor before, however I don't want to mention it now. It might not be his fault anyway, might be the front cover. Or it might be the fact that my car is possessed by the devil himself and does not want to run. And apparently it also dislikes the way paint feels on its metal.

There have been numerous problems with this car that no one can explain, and they have come and gone. Now I have this oil pressure problem and nobody has ever heard of anything like it before. (see my post in the tech area) F**k it.

Every problem that is car related has a cause/explanation and a solution to it...... Don't believe the devil has anything to do with it, but I could ask him for you:D ;) Sometimes the solution is hard to find and sometimes it is easy to find (take it from somebody that knows)!

FWIW I hope everything works out for you with the car and that you have some good luck with it and can enjoy it again:cool:

Take care and don't get too stressed out:)

A wise man once told me " just upgrade the basics, keep the stock turbo, run mid low 12's and you'll have the most fun with the car" I think he was right. I constantly see tons of problems when these cars start to get seriously modified. Especially if you didnt do the work yourself and cant pinpoint problems. I agree with 86brick....step back and dont mess with it for awhile.

This is with most any performance car not just TRs..... Just ask my buddy that has a mid 10 second (Heads/Cam/Intake + Nitrous) A4 LS1 T/A...... In one year of racing he's had problems with the rearend, tranny, block cracked, fuel pump, and probably some other things I can't think of right now!!! If you modify a car to that extreme there's always a possibility of having problems, but the kicker is how some don't have the same problems (I think that's what pisses most people off that do have problems)....

Thanks for the support. I have to leave it alone for awhile, if I work on it it might accidentally get lit on fire. I know the faster you go the more reliability goes down, but I'm averaging about 2.5 passes a year, which is rediculous. I would feel much better about it if it was my fault that it was messed up. I can accept that. I learn from the mistake and don't do it again and move on. But I've paid people to mess it up for me, and that sucks. The first time the motor got damaged was me and my buddy's fault, and I can deal with that. It was very educational. My next car will be built from the ground up by me only, at least then it has a fighting chance, plus its cheaper. My buddy built his chevelle in a 1 car garage, painted it, slapped the motor together, and beats this poor cars arse like you wouldn't believe. He runs a big block with ported stock heads, stock everything, with a blower and a bottle, and a transbrake, and I just cringe when he beats it, but it comes back for more. Were talking full throttle nitrous blasts on an ice cold motor, hot lapping the wee out of it all night at the track, and rigging stuff together that would never work on my car. Maybe thats why I got that bow tie tattoo on my arm.

I think if you have the time and patience as well as knowledge/resources working on your own car is the best way to go and one of these days when I have all of them I will!!! As you said if you worked on it and it was your own fault you'd feel much better and you'd most certainly learn from it..... That's why I think so many guys won't let anybody else touch their car(s) and it makes a LOT of sense to me! The fact that it is a whole hell of a lot cheaper is also another good reason to do it yourself..... Wonder how much money you'd save if you didn't have to pay for the labor?!! It's a scary thought:eek:

Cursed? Definitely. But the bow tie never did me wrong.

Actually I've done most of the work on my car myself, except for the paint and motor, which I feel to be out of my ability. Then again, what could possibly go wrong if I did it? It would be broke? Too late.

What really burns me is its finally summer and I can drive the car and now its going to be apart for who knows how long for the motor and then be in the body shop forever. Great. I'm moving somewhere where weather isn't a problem, like AZ. It might be hot for awhile, but you don't gotta shovel heat, know what I mean? Then when my POS breaks I can take comfort in the fact that I will be able to drive it when it gets done. Until it breaks again. I swear I must be retarded to spend this much money on this stupid car.

Feel free to NOT elaborate on the retarded comment:D

Sell off all those exotic parts and come back to driving fun, with minimal problems. I have to replace my water pump tomorrow. ;) Moving someplace warm? That's a good idea. :D

Sam, I know what your problem is...your GN is jealous because you were working on my car a few weeks ago. If it makes you feel any better, I smoked my dash while trying to wire my gauges up. Just take the Lightning out and spank a ricer, you'll feel better.

Yeah, I washed up the Lightning tonight, it was pretty bad. Tomorrow I gotta pull the oil filter and box it up so the builder can cut it. My GN is so frickin' dirty right now, but washing it just seems pointless. That bird crap really did a number on the side of it.

I was getting ready to order up a new set of Telstars for it, with drag radials, but I guess I don't need them now. Oh well. I keep justifying my over spending habit on the car by saying at least its not drugs, alcohol, or hookers, but at least those things are fun for a while. Wish I had me some alcohol right now, help me forget about my shi*ty luck. But I'd probably be just drunk and mad, and go show that car who's boss.

I know the feelin. When I orginally bought the car the mechanic had it more than I did. I eventually put it away for a while, saved money, and now I have to redue the trans. Have fun with it. Just think once your done with it will one fast car.

Steve

i dont like my car either

i know what your goin through, two weeks after I got my car the headgaskets blew and later on found out the engine was junk. As well as the turbo, cooling system, an exhaust. So several thousand dollars later, its running, but still completely stock an slow. Try driving it to work an back and cant. The egr system is screwed up from the previous owner:mad:. Fix that, drive it to work an the check engine light comes on. Come back after work, wont start. The ignition module went out. That was in April, its now late June. I just put the right module in today but cant start the car coz the battery needs to be charged. I've had it since November 01, when it had 103k on it. As of right now its got 105k. Thats how much i've driven it...an most of that was just to break in the engine. But oh well, ya live an learn right? I have w/ this car. I'll get rid of it soon an get a t-type for a daily driver.
Youre not the only one w/ a messed up car, so dont feel too bad.

<insert>64 BBC 10 sec Elcamino.

Brother I can so relate, were living the same chapter verse for verse. I drove mine last night for the first time in over a month and what does it do? Well I fixed the popping backfiring and stalling problem. Only to have my oil pressure 20lbs shy of what it used to be:mad: before the cam swap. Not to mention my aluminum rad is not keeping it as cool as I thought it would:mad:..... my car the true garage queen. Most of the time I'm behind the wheel I think flames would look good on it. What happened to the days of 13.0 @ 114 on street tires back when it was 90% stock.<shaking head>

I agree with Red Regal T. Maybe you should sell all of your high end stuff, build a mild street engine and enjoy it.

Just my opinion

BOOSTD

P.S. Its nice to hear that your trans is the only part of your car that hasn't broken. Im looking forward to getting my new transmission from Mark within the next fiew weeks. :)

I really wish I could be happy with a 12 second, or even 11 second car. It would be so much easier. But no, I gotta go faster. Sorry to hear about your car Rollin, that sucks. It truely is always something. Oh well, what can you do? I get made fun of for having a fast car thats always in the garage or brokem, but damn, every time I drive it it breaks, so what do you do? I ain't made of money. Maybe I'll sell it and buy a stage car. Yeah, those never break....Do they?

Ask Art they break to. Last year he had no oil pressure and had to yank engine for a rebuild (S2) That is how it goes when you push the envelope.

Call a Priest and get the car blessed. :D :D
