I was replaceing my coil pack on my fathers GN and when I took the old one off I found out that the new coil pack does not have the number 1 at the same place as the new one on the new coil pack all the odd numbers are on the back side on it but the old one has the odd number on the front side.
Do I just put the plug wires on like I took them off or sute I go by the new numbers on the coil?
Thanks for any help
JD

Can you just rotate it so that the numbers align correctly?
As long as you connect the wires on the underside correctly, the coil doesn't know what numbers are on the top. So yes you can just install the plug wires like the old coil showed you.
Backside from left to right 1,5,3
Front side left to right 4,2,6

Gary

I did try that but after I did it the tach did not work right it is showing a higher number then the car is running.
What do you think that could be.

Highly unlikely if the car is running correctly that the tach being off is the coil. Are you speaking of an aftermarket tach or the factory leds?

 about the tach..shouldnt affedt that
it might idle higher with all the cylinders firing though

as far as fireing order on coil..are they in the same order just front and rear opposite?

as far as wires they should be same as taken off butt front to rear dont matter you can pull the wires off the front side of the coil and put them on the rear and therears on the front and it wont make a difference.

If the car is reading high at idle and all the way thru, it is most likely the typical tach on these cars. It will get worse and worse until it is redlined at idle....John Spina of Casper's has figured out how to repair them recently.

Ho do I get a hold of John Spina? I want to get this fixed
So this is comen for the GN?
