I have a question I need cleared up on 1987 Turbt Ts

If you ordered a 1987 Turbo T with the black out package, did the front left/right blinks have chrome or black trim? I had always thought black, but looking through some pictures now I am not sure. Thanks

Are you talking about the lights in the headlight bezels or in the bumpers

headlight bezels would HAVE blackout trim

Bumpers would have chrome trim UNLESS WE4 with black bumpers as well

I am talking about the side marker lights next to the headlights. Grand National ones have black trim right on the blinker/side marker light unit. My T had chrome trim on it....if the blackout package was ordered for a T did it stay chrome? or did it get the same black trim ones from the GN?

i thought they would have the black sidemarkers but can not be 100% sure. I'll try and dig up my 87 dealer book and see

I was wondering the same thing. Now that you mention it, there have been pics of WO2 trim T's that had chrome around the side markers, but also ones that were black. The ones on my T are/were chrome, but painted black at some point. I'm repainting them as part of my tinkering, so back to black they will be. Seems odd to have a chrome light on a black bezel....lol.

only thing i can think of is maybe GM put whatever was available at the time on. Wouldnt be the first time

Back in the day I special order an 87 T w/ the blackout trim (RIP) and they came blk. The 86 I have now has the blk out package but the side maker light have a chrome lip. I've spoke to lots of folks that have 86's that have correct chrome side lights but the car has blk trim on everthing else.

I believe the reason Ts have the chrome around the marker is that the cars have chrome bumpers(GNs/WE-4s, of course, don't). Automotive styling would dictate some blend between the bumper, marker and bezel(my guess). Every T that I've seen with chrome bumpers(that's been a few)have also had the chrome markers.
