hey guys, anyone else???? Its driving me insane. I toss and turn every other hour, I open my eyes every night at 3AM and look at my clock? I hear everything, my legs want to run a marathon. Not getting a good night sleep screws you up big time. I am **** faced every morning due to lack of sleep. This is what I have tried so far and it has failed.
Ambien- many diff doses, nothing
Lunesta-many diff doses, nothing
med for restless leg syndrone-, nothing
Very comfy new mattress,. its comfy but doesnt help me sleep
$200 for large firm pillows, comfy, thats it
complete silence, no lights, helps/
changed my diet, NO sugar after 6PM, didnt do anything
Went to a neurologist on the restless leg syndrome (I guess i dont have it)
Tried exercising at night, doesnt help
tried Camamille tea, doesnt do anything.
tried warm milk, nothing
I have run out of idea's and patience.

anyone else have this annoying problem?

A bottle of Jack Daniels and a 2 liter of coke, problem solved!

Exercise at night is going to keep you awake. Exercise as soon as you get home from work, don't go to bed until you are tired, and if you wake up an hour or so early, get out of bed and get your day started. Rolling around in bed just makes you more tired. I've had manual labor jobs that wouldn't finish until 10pm, it took me until 1am to get calmed down enough to go to sleep. If I finished at 5-6 pm I could get to sleep by 10-11pm without a problem.

I'm up 2-3 times a night, but getting some serious exercise, enough that your body is worn out, really forces your body to shut down and repair itself during sleep. Just don't exercise at night.

It sounds like stress or anxiety. I have a hard time sleeping at night and I'm dead tired in the morning. The lack of sleep catches up with me by the end of the week. I'll usually take a nap or two on the weekends.

The more stress or anxiety you have, the more sleep you lose. Even when you think everything is OK, the back of your mind keeps you up.

Try taking up a sport or hobby that frees your mind so you don't think about all of the day to day crap. I enjoy surfing. It frees my mind and lets me forget about the bad day I was having, financial stress, family stress, etc. The serenity of being in the water and watching the sunset makes nothing else I have worries about matter. It also tires me out, so by the time I get home and take a warm shower, it makes me knock out.

Thansk for the reply guys. I TRIED exercising at night then stopped. I go to sleep at 10 or 11 pm not when I am shot. I do alot of mountain biking. I thought of the anxiety but I cant seem to think what could be bothering me>?? I am healthy, jobs are good, no one is dying . I have many hobbies that keeps me busy. I dont drink, I never did. I even tried 3 small cups of Tylenol PM! didnt do crap!

thanks guys! anything else?

20+ pounds of boost usually makes me feel better:)

Seriously, stress is what keeps me up at night - it is pretty easy to let stuff get to you. When work is less stressful, I sleep like a baby.

nah, i will skip the fat chicks :) but thanks for the idea. I have no stress right now, I have cooled down witht hat big time ever since the morning I woke up with a paralyzed face. I am hoping to find some herbal remedies.,

When you wake up in the morning, expose yourself to very bright light for a couple minutes. Don't stare at the light, just make it so your face is surrounded in bright light. The Equivalent of 500 to 1000 watts worth in a 10X10 room. Don't worry about the power bill, it's only a few minutes.

This will tell your brain it is time to wake up and you won't be required to OD on caffeine to wake up and stay awake.

Avoid any caffeine during the day completely and go to bed at your normal time.

I dont drink coffee or soda. I stopped eating fruit after 6pm due to the amount of sugar they have. I am going to search for a local sleep therapist.

Oh no!!

You mean you have dropped "sweet tea"???
The 200# "playmates" didn't bother you when you were in GA!!!:D :D
A little more pulled pork, and alot less pizza, may help!!:p
No stress?? That POS PUICK, and the moon roof, the ign system, and alot of other "stress risers", are what's messin with your mind....

oh shaddup , lol. I dont date girls heavier then me. NY doesnt have tea Like NY so I dont drink it anymore. The Buick is a hobby, doesnt bother me at all. I take things one at a time. Dont worry chuck you will be seeing it soon :) I havent spoken to yiou about that yet, lol

I have a FANTASTIC herbal remedy to suggest, but not everyone is on the same page when it comes to that ;)

I had sleep apnea and I would wake up every 2 hrs. I had sleep studies and got a CPAP machine. Ironically, I changed my diet and got more excercise, now I do not need the CPAP machine. I still wake up for bathroom breaks, but it is not as bad as every two hours. Imagine going to sleep at 9:30/10pm, waking at 12:00, go back to sleep at 2:00 am, wake up at 4:00am, fall into a COMA-type sleep before 5:00pm and alarm goes off at 6:45am. Talking about being a ZOMBIE at work.....

A great way to alomst instantly fall asleep is to turn on any kind of soccer game on TV and then lay back and try to watch it. TIP: Leave the TV on so in case you wake up, you'll nod off again in seconds. :)

All kidding aside, only use your bedroom for sleeping or sex. I've read that people who watch TV, read in bed, etc... in the bedroom often have problems sleeping.

A sleep study (sleep lab) arranged through a local medical center or health care facility may help determine some of your problems.

thats me!!! I never smoked weed but it will fix my problem i started smoking that **** tomorrow. Evans, I am in the process of looking for a local one.

Well if ur not overweight then I doubt it's sleep apnea. Aviod greasy foods late, cause that won't let u sleep & it'll give u nightmares. If ur fit then it's just that u got too much energy left. I used to have the same problem when I was fit :frown: . Would wake up in the middle of the night & would mentally practice my B-Ball moves laying in bed. u said u were a non smoker & non drinker so it's got to be that u still have too much energy left @ bedtime. Try not sleeping @ all during daytime !! HTH.
