Looking to buy another Turbo Buick. You email people for pics and more info on cars, and you get 1 crappy photo. Do people really think someone will just throw the money at them?? And then there are the people that don't even have any pics:confused: I know pictures hide alot, but it's a whole lot better than trying to guess what the cars look like! Am I the only one that feels this way? If your going to sell a car, take the time and present it the right way! I feel better now. :D

I know what you mean. I'm trying to sell my car right now, so I borrowed the digital camera from work and took about 40 pictures of the body, engine, interior, underside, etc. I posted them up on a free website so I don't have to email millions of pictures to people.

Glen, You did it the right way! The car looks good!! Why you seling her???

A guy I know may be selling his GN that I've wanted in a bad way for the last 2 years.

I've used a Kirban trick which is send a self addressed stamped envelope with a disposable camera in it. ALL they have to do is take 28 (more or less) pictures of a car they are trying to sell and send it back at no cost to them. Digital is fast and easy, you'd think, but it doesn't show everything. If they don't agree or have a problem sending it back that is all need to know about that car. What are you looking for?

A picture say 1000 words, Anyone ever heard that? Makes since to me.

Your 100% correct about the pictures! But there a whole lot better than trying to imagne what the car looks like:)

The aggravation goes beyond that for me. I'm not looking to buy or sell a car right now, but I'm talking about buying little things on ebay or thru these car forums. People list stuff for sale with little information (let alone pictures). You email them seeking more information and they don't even reply. What's with that? Are you trying to sell this or what? And if it's already sold, have the courtesy to simply reply and say so. How difficult is this? And if you're "lucky" enough to purchase the item, how about a little notice that your money was received and the product shipped. I'm sick of the "I've been too busy to reply" excuse. If you're too busy to communicate with your customers, why aren't you too busy to post it for sale or accept the money? Same thing goes for the vendors who treat their customers the same way.

OK I'm done ranting for the moment.

I've got my car for sale. I took a bunch of pictures and hosted them on webshots.

The gripe I have is with the prospective "buyers". They email and ask a bunch of questions, then when I take the time to type out a detailed response and reply with answers to their questions I never hear anything back. There are a lot of tire kickers out there with champagne taste and a Nighttrain pocketbook.

I hate trying to sell a car and getting nothing but tire kicker replies.

Seems like no one wants to buy them right now, too.

Like it was said here, it goes both ways.

The seller has to treat every prospective buyer as being sincere when in reality, very few are truly "in the market". Most have a hundred reasons why they are just 'shopping' but that is the truth. The number of actual real prospects is much slimmer than the number of people who write, "Send me some pics".

On the other hand, the real potential buyers should ONLY ask for pics and info if you truly are interested and not just collecting pictures of nice cars. Yes, it happens. And the prospective buyers deserve to get complete info and good pictures, absolutely.

So how do we 'marry' the two?

Just accept that it happens and treat it like fishing. You've got to make a lot of casts to catch a trophy winner, whether you're buying OR selling. :D

PS: If you are TRULY looking for a good, low mileage TR, send me an email. I might know of one for sale.

I know what you mean kenny. I'm selling a 58k mile GN that I have nearly 25k in and am asking 18k for the car, yet I get nothing but tire kickers. Good luck building a comparable car for anywhere near what I'm asking. So far I've gotten one low ball offer for 14k. Hell I've got 5k in paint alone! Shoot the NOS GM door and window seals I installed cost me $450. Before I do a giveaway deal for 14k I'll keep the car. I don't need the money and can afford to wait. I only wanted to sell the car because I just don't have the time to play with it like I used to.

18k..... hmmm thats more than the car sold for new isn't it???;) ;) ;) Take it to some car shows, somebody will have to have it.

Its real hard for me to make an offer for anything I haven't seen in person. Pictures hide a frickin ton. One persons excellent daily driver is anothers death trap.
:D

Glad it's not just my car.
