Hey guys, i just finished putting my baby back into a-1 shape. I have owned this car since 1990. My wife drove it for a long time and it has been sitting in the garage for the last 3 or 4 years. I did the whole 9 yards, spring clean, all new fluids everywhere, 160 t-stat, plugs, o2 sensor, hot wire kit, fuel pump, adjustable regulator, mass air pipe, fuel pressure guage yda,yda etc. I installed a thrasher chip. I think that may be the problem. It seems to be slower than before. It wants to shift slow under full throtle. I adjust the tvi cable 10 times to no improvement. It seems to go to a different spot each time!!! Boost seems to drop also. Will the TVI cable being set wrong cause the boost to drop?? This whole project started because i wanted to make the car idle better. That was the reason it was parked for years, rough idle. I also installed a scanmaster. my o2s are always in the 850 range. Any ideas?? Should i try a new chip?? Take it to connellys 3 hours away?? Thanks

Not sure if you did, but check your vacuum lines and for a cracked header. If anything put the stock or previous chip back in there and see how it does. Good luck

After sitting that long your valve springs are surely shot

Also if you havent driven the car in four years can you really accurately remember how fast it was? The more time that passes it seems the cars from our past can get faster and faster

Maybe an RJC Power Plate will help. Bet you forgot that one!

Lower your fuel pressure... you a running rich.

Relatively speaking, right Mr. Wood?! :D

Start at 42psi with the vac line off and plugged... drop it from there: paying close attention to your Knock Retard, and 02s. You want to aim for a 760-800 reading from your O2s.

And buy the RJC Power Plate... I am sure that it is saving my ass right now.

Check your EGR valve and solenoid. Mine was bad but wasn't throwing a SES light, only occasionally would it throw a code. Tried all kinds of stuff to fix it, turned out to be the EGR solenoid, $50 and about 5 minutes to fix.
Jeff

All thrasher chips require a fuel pressure setting of 45 lbs.Set it there and see what happens..
