I know our cars are rare, but....

....i was wondering if my car was any rarer. I printed off the RPO sheet from gnttype.org and checked what I had. It only had options for 85-87, but I'm assuming its the same for 84.
Here's some of the notable stuff: pwr windows/trunk/locks, cruise, digital dash, concert sound, t-tops, leather seats of course, and posi(which i just found out) WOO HOO!

There were a couple of things I'm not sure about. The first is FE2(special gran touring suspension). What is that? The other is the axle ratio...theres GU4 and GU5 on the sheet, but my sticker says GU6. Whats that?

So does my car have more than the normal amount of options? I've never looked in any other hot airs so i have nothing to compare mine to. Thank in advance guys

Actually, I'm a bit curious to know what a normal or average number is. I have 97 options on my trunk lid, it's an 85 wh1.

I only have 81 codes on the trunk lid, no posi either, fE2 suspension also. Thankfully blackout trim.

I counted my options and unless I forgot how to add, theres 92. So does anyone have any tidbits on the different option combos?

I counted exactly 90 options. I have a few that I've been unable to identify.

I was able to get a options book out of my GM dealer and decoded all of my options.

GU6 is the 3.42 Rear Axle Ratio, which was, as far as I know, standard on the Grand Nationals. I was pretty sure that posi was too, but I could be wrong.

Gran Touring Suspension was standard on T-Types and Grand Nationals.

I have heard that most GN's had digital dash. Can anyone confirm this?

i do not have the options codes for my car. all the stickers are gone is there any way to get this information by using the vin?

Options

Mine has 88 codes. It is an 85 WH1 T-TYPE.

Car seems to be pretty loaded with options.

The only things it doesn't have is:

Remote passenger side mirror, T-Roof or Astroroof, remote trunk release, digital dash,concert sound or leather seats.

I am also curious on just how loaded most of these cars came.
I know that mine is rare because of the WH1. But is mine well optioned for a WH1 or is it a little less optioned than other WH1's

wh1 85: like I said, I have 97 options, I don't know if I have an unusually high amount, or you just don't have as many. Still, it's cool to have the rare 85 wh1. Mine might even be canadian, I'm not sure. It was bought locally and I live on Vancouer Island up in BC, Canada.

Alot of the codes there are for standard equipment too.

Looks like lp2 is in the lead w/ 97 options. I kinda figured the GU6 was the 342 gears. how many wh1's were made? I havent done much research on t-types. This thread seems to be bringin out a bunch of questions....where are the guys that know everything about our cars when u need em?

525 1985 wh1 cars were produced..

its the designer series, the black/silver/black colour scheme, with a rear deck spoiler like the gn's.

According to the buick regal wh1 registry, there was 463 made in 86, and 1,163 made in 84.

I agree it is very nice to have a WH1.

Here in St. Louis you rarely see any tr's at all. And when you do it is either a gn or a black t-type. I have only ever actually seen one other WH1 in my entre life.

When I first bought it I thought that someone had painted it two tone. So I was going to paint it all black and get black bumpers.

Well now I know better, and I wouldn't trade the car for any other t-type or gn.

Well maybe a GNX, But I don't think I have to worry about anyone offering me that trade any time soon.

gu6 is 3.42's.

g80 is posi.not all tr's came with posi,but they all had 3.42s.so you can have one(3.42)but not the other(posi).

I always thought that all GN's (or at least the 84's) came with posi? I've been wrong before.

On the Service parts Id (was on the trunck lid) there are listed 74 items. Sometime before the old board crash someone listed all the opt codes. The G87 & GU6 are suppose to be the 8 1/2 rear and the 3.42 gears. Mine list both but, dosen't have either. I think someone swaped it out. It did have the alum brake drum (one was missing ).
