Sum biotch!!!! I cross-threaded my drain plug on my Art Carr aluminum pan. Me and aluminum just DO NOT GET ALONG these days. The plug is in right now but is leaking (one drip every minute or so) and will not seal any longer.

What's the best way to fix my problem? Rethread it?

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I have a cross threaded oil drain plug on my Jeep. To stop the slow drip leak, I made a "washer" out of cork pan gasket material. Made the ID in the cork washer really tight to the shank of the drain bolt and just screwed the plug in tight. The cork essentially works as a gasket in this application too. Seems to work pretty good.

For you, since it's the trans pan which is easily removed, I'd probably remove it and try to chase the threads or re-tap it somehow rather than band-aid like I did for the Jeep oil pan.
