The piece is the tubular steel that attaches to the stud on the intake and mounts to the alt bracket. If you have one of these let me know, i'll take it off your hands.
Lee, I thought I did not need it also ,but when I rev the eng I can see the entire bracket flex where the alt mounts and the alignment is off, and when this happens the belt squeals slightly. I figure it better safe to have it and let the belt last a little longer.By the way do you still have the blue car I saw in pop. hot rodding? If you do I was just wondering how its doing?
yeah, its bending the top ear of the main bracket where the belt tension bolt is. its moving in a downward motion istead of a right to left that would berelated to the eng torque.
