ok,here goes it... i have champion gn1 headt a t66 b.b with a "big wheel" comp cams roller valve train a 20 over 4.1l all balanced(not the issue) arp studs, every where, 70 mm accufab dog house and throttle body, 55 lb siemens with caspers injector harness, with relay,3500 converter, transtec trans, all of its new.here is my dilemma.when i swapped the injectors, and turbo last summer.(did the eng over the winter, broke it in with a 44 and 42 lb injectors) ever since i did the trb and injector swap, when ever it builds boos i get a pop and loose a cylender.we swapped the injector harness, cleaned all harnesses, new alt. new module new coil, now up to 12 lbs,its a bear.but go beyond 1/2 gas and 13 lbs.. it skips.im getting fed up.honestly.i have changed everything another new fuel pump, fuel lines, turbo link shows everything is fine.not leandecent voltage, but i cant get w.o.t.endless $$$ pit.checked all the rockers in case they were mis adjusted, timing firing thru a stuck valve.could it be a "work hole" thru the head gasket? only showing under boost?the head gasket is the only thing i havnt changed yet.... ran today.... 12.70's...... HUH RAN FASTER WITH THE 44.and the old 3.8.please any advise would be apprecaiated....... my e mail is awickedturbo@aol.com
thanks in advance... and info i can provide i will.bad injectors????

You need to get some scan numbers posted. You really need a wideband data logger to give us a good picture of the a/f ratios. Your injectors are not enought to maximize your build. You need 83 lb injectors to run 25psi with those parts. Is it possible you have springs for a flat cam on your heads? Just throwing ideas out there. Id do a compression test to see if the cylinders are close and re-verify the coil and module are grounded. Change back to the small injectors and see if it goes away. Of course keep the boost way down with the small injectors.

bad thing is that i sold the small injectors. so i should get the 83 lb injectors can i run those with the stock style ecm? i dont have fast yet, the 1800 is a little more than i want to spend yet, especially after dropping the $$$ for the trans and all the harnesses the computer, lol.. and on and on and on...can i d load the turbo link for the run on here?the fuel reads rich the whole run,and i was only running like 18 lbs.and the miss pop only happens at 13 lbs and over.which is why we thought ignition or electrical because thats when it fattens the mix right?i will get compression readings as well and post.im just getting frustrated is all.i was told the 55 lbs would be sufficient, sooo more$$$ to spend there as well.arrgh.. any one need a new set of 55 lbs? do i need to have my computer modded for 83 lb injectors? how would it effect my drivability, will it still maintain a good a/f ratio?and when it skips looses a cylender, pops, it doesnt change the os reading. i tried to d load the link run.i it takes hoooray... if not,can you help me change it to a d loadable format or e mail it to you?? any help is soooo friggn greatly appreciated... i have soo much $$$ invested in this thing now.. i cant give up till i hit the 10's.please and thank you!!!!!!! could it be a chip issue as well? because somtimes the car stalls off idle, after driving it.i do have the 3.5 maf, with translator.

ya think maybe the springs are weak? but why would it happen at the same time.under the same boost? but took it for a ride this am... got 3/4 gas and it ripped.... arrrrrgh....... didnt record it.lol. do i have to mod my ecm for the 55 lbers as well???? i was also told that i wouldnt have to.....

I'm gonna keep presenting what caused mine... until someone else finds theirs did it....

Mine did what you are describing... get down on it.... it pulls to a point... pop.... then it picks back up.... what mine did... is under torque... the engine torqued over... the battery cable is REAL close to the pass header... where it connects to the starter....anyway... the engine rocking over under torque (bottom side of pass header) had contacted the battery cable. It would temporarily short out.... for about 3 frames on my direct scan....(which catches 18 frames per second). During this shorted out period... the voltage DS saw was 0 volts... which caused the engine to stumble.... which immediately cause the engine to twist back toward the drivers side since it wasn't under torque... which would unshort the battery... and everything would go back to normal.

It is beleivable that TurboLink wouldn't have enough framerate to "catch" the short.... DS barely did.....

It might be worth checking out anyway....

HTH

i was also told that i wouldnt have to.....

You absolutely need the ecm modded. The 55's are require low impedance drivers. This may be your whole problem. One or more of your drivers is not functioning properly from the added current after switching to the low resistance injectors.

Like Bison says... definately YES.

60 # injectors (motrons) NO ECM MOD REQUIRED (new school)
55 # injectors (old school) MUST MODIFY ECM

You will most likely fry the ECM if you don't modify it for low impedence (sp?) injectors and run any injector that is "low impedence"

Plus side is... once you have the modification made.... you can run any of the injectors.... low impedence or high impedence.

Some of your driver(s) are probably fried at this point. Start off with a known good GM ecm and have it modded by Bob Bailey. You will be good to go for a while till you want to go really fast. With your parts the wide band stand alone will make things much easier and safer. The minimum injector i would use is an 83 lb/hr. 55's are definitely not enough to go much over 130 mph in the quarter and thats pushing them to the absolute limit with no supplemental fuel source.

ok well this is what i did find out.....i dont need toe 60 lbers because well i have them already....... but i have a 55 lb chip running them... could and would that possibly have somthing to with my driving problems?????because i have said from the get go that it seems like it is flooding out....too much fuel.soooo whats your thoughtsand it only runs sh*tty when under boost it floods? loses a cylender.....thoughts??

The chip is more than likely 90% of your problem. The 55 lb injectors use much different parameters than a high impedance injector. Your car must idle like crap also with the block learn pegged in either direction. Start with the correct chip. Contact Eric at Turbotweak. The 60lb injectors will be a tight squeeze on your build if you want to max it out.
