I just wanted to share with everybody that I finally passed my driver's license test here in Germany. This afternoon I took the practical part of the test which consists of 45 minutes of driving in the city, the autobahn, or both.
The reason I had to take my driver's license test is because my American driver's license is only valid for a certain period of time. It's a long sorted process to get your license here including a lot of driving school which I was allowed to skip, many hours of practical training, a first aid/ CPR course, a vision test, a translation of your native countries license and finally your practical test. The test, from what I understand has about a 50% passing rate for first timers.
So tomorrow, I go to the office where I actually pick up my license. It is good for life.. no renewal. All I have to say is I'd be mad if I failed.. I've been driving since '89.
Sorry... just had to share.
