TurboDave,

I'm in the same boat as several others here. I have 2 Angle Bosses on 2 cars, (recall BOP receded Champion to market) no problems whatsoever. Why aren't your IAC and your Angle Boss matching up?

IAC Boss angle mount question

Hi, fellas. Just one question here about the IAC angle mount boss. Per your recommendations I'm going to procure one from BOP Engineering. They sent me their catalog for Buick high performance parts and it looks pretty positive. As per your previous discussions on this, you all didn't seem to have any trouble with the BOP boss. My question is: will I have to reset the IAC if I install this BOP angle boss, or will it be just a simple relocation job? Looking at the assembly, I don't see how moving the IAC pintle end a little away from the throttle body hole wouldn' t need for a reset. Just need to know if it's strictly a bolt on job with no adjustments. Please educate me here, guys, as you have so well done in the past for me. I would appreciate it. I put on a solid 3"mass air flow tube from the MAF sensor assembly to the turbo and now the tube hits right up against the wiring to the back of the IAC. (my beloved wife noticed this, I didn't.) Pays to have a real observant loving wife for me.

Hope to get some answers soon and thanks a lot to all of you.

(Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention...I still don't have a scanmaster.:frown: )

Theoretically speaking, you shouldn't have to re-adjust the IAC.

Here's the thing. No self-respecting TR owner would decline checking IAC after installing an Angle Boss. It's just so easy. You need to bite the bullet and get a scan tool and begin to take on simple tuning tasks. Once you do you'll gain confidence. And you'll wonder why you waited to do it, and why you were accepting of knowing so little. Basic skills will serve you well in the future - TRs have been known to subject their owners to (understatement) much more complex problems. Save your anxiety for them.
