hello people; This weekend was play with the car weekend and I think it payed off. I was doing that IAC reset as Joe 1320 suggested and I was about to give up. I was into doing it for the forth time and I do believe it worked. I was having a problem getting the idle at 500 or so. l did'nt take the car today so it's still up in the air but I feel good about it.
thanks people

the chip controls the idle. the iac just maintains the idle when in park and a load is applied. it controls more or less air intake

Did you take the time to read the link? It explains all about the fuction of the IAC.

hello people; I just read the write up on the IAC but when you do the IAC reset procedure as shown by Joe you disconnect the IAC and that idle (500+/-50) is the idle I was having problems with. I had that screw out way to far and to get it correct I felt it took too much but I do believe it worked.

I'd still like to get a mint IAC screw and spring.

Warm engine. Turn off. Set the TPS as per Steve Monroe's site. Set IAC as per Steve Monroe's site. The set screw should not be all the way out or tight. Start fresh. If you can't get it to adjust correctly the IAC might be all carboned up. Probably wouldn't hurt to pull it out and clean it with throttle body cleaner as well as the throttle body itself...

hello people; I took the car today and the IAC reset and all that helped the drivability of the car. The idle was too hi as I got it back from JC even though the IAC numbers TPS looked good. It was worth the work and that IAC cleaning is gioing to be a ritual.

I still want a mint stock IAC screw.

hello people; After straightening this out I like my RJC crossflow exhaust more. It sounds better to be and I like it cumming of the gas and slowing down for a light or something. With that higher idle it took away from the sound. It blurble's even more. That's my word for the sound.
