Whats up fam. I was looking to get a 87 grand nat. And the guy said it's idling/stalling and it may be a fuel pump or fuel pump relay. He said the fuel pump relay was got melted slightly. What would cause these problems?

Alot of amps will melt it. The pump could be internally shorted and drawing too many amps, OR the wire is rubbing on the frame somewhere and its shorting to ground

Would you buy a grand nat with this problem? The price is $5000. Stock engine, tranny, turbo and rearend and has 115k miles.

If the body was solid its not a bad buy, but its only a matter of time before things start to go south. Look in the forsale section and you might be able to find a decent car with some upgrades and a re-built trans for a couple of thousand more. The rears in these cars are pretty stout from the factory so I wouldnt worry about that (assuming its a 8.5" 10 bolt with posi)

LOL! You should say what doesnt go wrong with these cars , Coilpacks, modules, cam sensors, Mafs...................... A car with 115K will probably need a new timing chain and sprockets, and Valve springs to start. Nothing Major :D. If the car was abused who knows what kind of condition the engine and trans are in. Does the turbo have any shaft play? MAKE SURE THE BODY IS STRAIGHT AND NOT RUSTED OUT

Spend your time and look through the board to get an idea of what these cars are about. There kindda like a really hot girlfriend, you buy it expensive parts, take it out, Then outta nowhere it breaks down and you dont know what happened :biggrin:. But when they run good they are fun as hell.
