Idle would not back down

Alright heres the situation,

I was driving my 87 GN and the rpms stayed around 2000 or so, I was crusing at a speed of 60km. I let off the gas and it seemed the like the car was stuck on cruise control. I put the brake on thinking maybe I did have it on cruise but I did not, I put it into neutral as I was coming up to a red light and it still stayed on 2000rpm, I put the brake on and came to a stop, After that my drive was fine. This car only has 15,000km on it, Would can the issue be, should I be greasing and throtle links? Thanks all Im still a newb at this car

You need to rule in or rule out the cruise control as variable. If it were a one time thing (so far) then I'd say it's a cruise issue.
